Dear Vanderhoof Families-
What a wonderful first week. Assessment days have gone smoothly and we look forward to finishing them up on Monday August 26th. Please make sure to check your students assessment times. As we begin to move into our school year, I want to take a moment to remind families to make sure we are using the crosswalks and respecting the bus lanes at both arrival and dismissal. As much as we love our furry friends, we kindly ask that you please leave them at home when visiting the school campus. We want to ensure that all members of our school community feel safe and comfortable. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!
Attention to calendar changes- We are adjusting our Back to School/Curriculum night to later in the fall. As a staff we listened to parent and teacher feedback from last year and heard that everyone wanted to have more of a community night around our new Math curriculum that will be our focus this year. We will share more details about the event soon. All teachers and Adminstration will still provide our curriculum and Vanderhoof nuts and bolts slides via newsletter and websites next Friday August 30th.

We ask that parents dropping off or picking up their children be aware of the following areas.
The Hug-N-Go zone is located along the north side of the parking lot. You may pull in, drop off your child and continue on to the parking lot exit.
The school bus loading/unloading area is located on the west side of Routt St (east and north of the building).
The area in front of the bus zone on the east side of the building is another Hug and Go zone, which can be used as drop off. Traffic using this area should be approaching the school from north to south to avoid having your child cross Routt St. at the busiest times of the day.
If it is necessary for you to park and leave your car, please park in the parking lot and not in any of the loading areas.
Monday, August 26th is an Assessment Day. Students who didn't test on Friday will attend during their assigned testing slot. Assessment Day Signup Please reach out to your students teacher if you have questions.
We are asking for donations of crackers, granola bars, fruit snacks etc. for our students in need. If you are able to donate, please drop the snacks off in the main office.
To pick up a child from school prior to dismissal, the guardian/or authorized indivudual should report to the school office. The main office will faciliate the check-out of all students. Please be prepared to present your photo ID and allow extra time for this process. We will only release students to adults listed on the guardian/emergency contact list in Infinite Campus
Fall Individual Picture Day is Monday, September 16th. Order forms were sent home in Friday folders.
