Dear Vanderhoof Families-
Thanks for all the support with our annual book fair, its wonderful to see how much our students love to read. The profit from the bookfair will help benefit our own school library as well. If you are interested in learning more about the district budget please feel free to attend the district open labs Oct. 27th. at Arvada HS and Oct. 29th Carmody MS 5-7pm. I will continue to share school budget information as we learn more about the district's budget blue print. We're excited to bring back our Math Night this year, save the date for November 20th 5-6:30PM.
We are recognizing one team of teachers each month to celebrate how amazing they are. This award recognizes their collaboration, hard work, and constant support for one another. Their classrooms run smoothly, their planning meetings are full of joy, and their dedication shines every single day.
This month we are celebrating our 5th grade teachers, Julie Matthews, Lynne Henry, Jen Petrovic. If you would like to acknowledge them as well please feel free to send emails, comment on their Instagram post, or drop off cards or favorite snacks.
**If you are cleaning out closets and want to donate old costumes, we will have a box in the main office next week Oct. 20-28th.

Here are the final results!!!
Our MOVE-A-Thon was a huge success!!! As a school we ran 4,688 laps or 586 miles!!! That is the same as running through the Grand Canyon twice!!!!
We also raised $10,333 which will go to fund school events and help build a secure fence around our school to make it safer.
We are so thankful for all the donations and support we have received this year.

We are excited to celebrate Halloween at school! Here are a few important details for the day:
Costumes: Students are welcome to wear their costumes to school. Please make sure costumes are school-appropriate. No weapons, blood, or gore are allowed.
Parade: The parade will begin promptly at 8:25 a.m. Students will walk all the way around the building. Parents are welcome to stand anywhere around the outside of the school to watch and cheer.
Class Parties: Following the parade, class parties will take place in classrooms and wrap up around 9:15 a.m.
Costume Changes: After the party, students will take off their costumes and place them in their backpacks. Please have your child wear regular clothes underneath their costume if possible to make changing easier.
