Dear Vanderhoof Families-
It was a great first week back from break! We were so excited to welcome our students back to school and see classrooms once again filled with learning, laughter, and curiosity. I wanted to also share that we are having an All School SOAR celebration on Friday Jan. 16th- Students can wear their favorite color and dress comfy on that day. We are celebrating our school's amazing growth on our middle of the year assessments. Teachers will be sending assessment reports home next Friday as well. We are thrilled to report that we have seen trememndous growth and acheivement at every gradelevel.
Yay! Winter has finally arrived, please remember that students will continue to go outside on snowy days. Be sure your child is dressed appropriately for cold weather, including warm coats, hats, gloves, and boots. Thank you for your continued support as we settle back into our learning routines.

We are so proud to announce that several Vanderhoof students were selected to have their artwork featured in the Stock Show Art Show! Congratulations to:
Harrison Champlin, 4th Grade
Pierce Champlin, 1st Grade
Marie Spears, 4th Grade
Being chosen for this show is a big accomplishment, and we are thrilled to see our students’ creativity represented—way to go!
If your family is attending the Stock Show, be sure to stop by and visit the Art Show on Level 1 of the Hall of Education (also known as Itty Bitty Acres). It’s open every day of the Stock Show—don’t miss the chance to support our talented Vanderhoof artists!
Help us keep our students fueled for learning! We are asking families who are able to please consider donating snacks for students. Snack donations help support classrooms throughout the day and are always greatly appreciated. Thank you for your continued generosity and support of our students!
Spanish Roots Winter session starts next week and registration will close at 7:00 pm on Sunday! Don't miss out on the opportunity to join this club! Here is the Link to register.
Spelling Bee
The Vanderhoof Spelling Bee is right around the corner on Jan 23th. The winners from each class received practice words to work on over break. Please email us with any questions.
Future of PTA
Did you know that next year we still have all of our board positions open for the PTA? While we love and so appreciate all the event volunteers and sign up genius help, our PTA can not run with out a board. The PTA makes so many great things happen at Vanderhoof, but it takes a village to make it all work. It is a great place to make new friends, and is not the commitment you think it is. If you are interested in helping to keep the PTA running please reach out to Vanderhoofparentsinfo@gmail.com.
