Kari (Henningsgaard) Bollum (Athlete - 1975)
Kari is a 1975 graduate of Bloomington Jefferson where she participated in swimming, basketball, and track.
Kari was a 2-time letter winner in swimming and was named captain and MVP as a senior.
In 1974, she was the district and regional 50 & 100 breaststroke champion.
Unofficially, Kari was the state champion in both events as well- she had the fastest times in the state, but there wasn’t a state meet.
Kari was on the 1st girls' basketball team at Jefferson as a senior. She led the team to a 2nd place conference finish while being named captain and MVP.
As a 3-time track and field letter winner, Kari was a conference champion long jumper (10th grade & 6th place at state) and high jumper (12th grade & 5th place at state).
She was a captain, MVP, and currently shares the school record in the high jump.
Kari was the 1st female athlete from Jefferson to receive an athletic scholarship ( University of MN- swimming) after the passing of Title IX in 1972.
Kari is a retired teacher who lives in Apple Valley with her husband Craig.
