Terry Hunst (Teacher/Coach)

Terry taught and coached in Bloomington for 34 years, retiring in 2003.  He coached baseball, boys basketball, football, boys tennis, volleyball, and most recently, Jefferson girls basketball, winning 6 Lake Conference championships, 6 section championships, two 3rd place finishes, and 3 state championships.  His overall record is 330-165 and his state tournament record is 13-3.  12 of his former players played Division 1 basketball and he coached a Miss Basketball, Kiersten Miller, in 1994.  Terry was named Coach of the Year in 1993 and 1994.  Terry also coached the Burnsville softball team from 1993 to 2005, winning 8 conference championships, 3 section championships, and 2 state championships.  After retiring from Jefferson, Terry took a part-time teaching position in the St. Paul schools, which turned into full time.  He will retire from St. Paul in 2009.  Terry is active in numerous coaching clinics and coaches summer baseball and softball teams, taking several to national tournaments.  He lives in Lakeville with his wife Cynthia.
