Mike Vandegarde

Mike Vandegarde (Athlete - 1990)

• Mike graduated from Jefferson High School in 1990.  

• While at Jefferson, he was a 2-year letter winner in both soccer and baseball and was a 3-year letter winner in basketball.  

• He played in both the soccer and basketball state tournaments during his senior year.  

• Mike was an all conference goalie his senior season.  

• He was selected as the 1990 Minneapolis Basketball player of the year along with being named all conference, all metro, all state and all region in basketball.  

• After high school, he attended Illinois State University on a basketball scholarship.  

• Mike was a 1994 Division 1 basketball academic All-American.  

• He played 2 years of professional basketball in Europe and spent 2 years coaching at Texas State University.  

• Mike has been a NBA Scout since 2000.   

• He currently resides in Texas.
