Tom Burnett Jr (Athlete - 1981)

-  Tom Burnett was the starting quarterback on the 1980 Jefferson football team

- A leader on the team and in school, Tom served as team captain and graduated with academic honors. 

-Tom attended the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management, earning his MBA. 

- Tom died in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on the United States, leading the effort to divert Flight 93 from its intended target in Washington. Tom is a national hero, and Bloomington is proud to display his retired jersey #10 near the Activity Center at Jefferson High School.  

-Tom’s wife and three daughters live in Arkansas
