Shelly Brown Gannon (Athlete-1983) 

Shelly Brown was a four-year letter winner and three-time captain in gymnastics at Jefferson High School.  She was 2nd in State on the balance beam in her senior year, leading the team to the Lake Conference Championship. Shelly was named All Around Lake Conference Champion and High School All American in 1983, and All Lake Conference in 1981, 1982 and 1983.  Shelly also won four letters in cheerleading while at Jefferson.  At the University of Minnesota, Shelly was named All Around Big Ten Champion in 1986, placing in vault, balance beam and floor exercise.  She was the Regional NCAA Balance Beam Champion in 1986 and was named the University of Minnesota Most Valuable Performer that year.  Shelly lives in Excelsior with her husband Richard.
