Bruno Waldern (Teacher/Coach)

Bruno Waldner coached football at Waconia High School before coming to Bloomington Jefferson, where he won 6 Lake Conference championships and 2 state runner-up trophies.  He coached for one year at the University of Mississippi and for 8 years in the European Professional League in England, Germany, 

and Italy.  He coached the Minnesota Vikings development squad for one year and has been the Vikings' play clock operator for 24 years. During Waldner's 40-year coaching career, he received coach of the year awards 11 times.  His teams captured 8 high school championships, 3 European championships, and the 1989 European Super Bowl Championship. Bruno's overall record is 224 wins, 92 losses, and 4 ties. Bruno has been inducted into the Hamline University Athletic Hall of Fame, the Minnesota Football Coaches Hall of Fame, and the St. Paul Football Hall of Fame.  Bruno lives in Savage with his wife Mary Margaret.
