Matt Zielinski

Martin Zielinski (Athlete - 1995)

- swam for the Jefferson boys swim team from 1990 to 1995, where he was a champion butterflyer and captain.  

-  He holds pool and team records at Jefferson HS and at the University of Minnesota. 

-  He was the Minnesota High School State Champion in the 100 fly in 1994 and 1995, the state champ in the backstroke in 1995.

-  Additionally Martin helped lead the Jaguars to the 1994 State Team Championship 

- In 1995 Martin set the record for the fastest high school 100 fly time in the nation.  -  Martin went on to set Big 10 records at the University of Minnesota, where he studied medicine, receiving numerous athletic and Academic All American honors.  Martin is now a surgeon at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester 

-  Where Martin currently lives with his wife Elizabeth.
