Charlie Coffee (Teacher/Coach)

Charlie Coffee taught and coached in Bloomington for 31 years -- 4 years at Lincoln High School and 27 years at Jefferson. He coached wrestling for 31 years, girls soccer for 17 years, and girls golf for 15 years.  Charlie coached 62 state tournament entrants in wrestling and 7 in girls golf.  His teams were Lake Conference Champs in soccer, wrestling, and golf.   He won 4 state championships is soccer, including the first MSHSL-sanctioned girls soccer state title in 1980.  Charlie was named Coach of the Year in wrestling and soccer and is a National Wrestling Hall of Fame inductee. Charlie has officiated high school and college wrestling for 50 years, and has assisted with the Bloomington BAA wrestling  program for many years.  Currently, Chuck volunteers as a wrestling coach at a high school in Florida, where he lives in the winter.
