Kudos / Referral / Alert
What:
Staff, Professional Advisors, and Faculty can issue a flag, known as an Ad-hoc Kudos / Referral / Alert(s) (at any given time), on a specific student based on student requests and/or first-hand interactions with the student in order to draw attention to student needs and/or prompt a referral with another department.
Where:
Alerts can be issued throughout the platform, including your staff, a student’s profile page, and the Advanced Search. Alerts are viewed primarily on the student’s profile page, Professor Home, and in the Reporting section of the platform.
Who:
Alerts provide Staff, Professional Advisors, and Faculty Advisors (under Staff home) with the ability to draw attention to students or prompt a referral with another department using the platform.
conditions:
The ability to create and view Kudos / Referral / Alert is permission-based by user role.
How to Issue an Ad-hoc (anytime) Kudos/referral/Alert from the student profile:
Step 1: Click the “Issue a Kudos / Referral / Alert” link in the upper right-hand corner of your home page. See first image on the right.
Step 2: Search for the student for whom you’d like to issue an alert (using name or ID). See second image on the right. You can also issue a Kudos / Referral / Alert from the Student's Profile.
Step 3: Select the Kudos / Referral / Alert reason(s) you believe the student needs assistance. The reason(s) you choose will connect the student with the appropriate office. See more details on the specific alert reasons.
Step 4: If the Kudos / Referral / Alert is associated with a particular class, fill out that field.
Step 5: Lastly, please provide any relevant context around your reason for submitting the Kudos / Referral / Alert in the comments section. Comments will help the team and individuals reviewing alerts to connect the student with the right resources in a timely fashion.

How to Issue an Ad-hoc (anytime) Kudos/referral/Alert from the student in mY courses under Professor home:
Step 1: Switch to Professor's Home page by clicking the drop-down menu next to your name from your home page. See the first image on the right.
Step 2: You will find a list of the students within your courses. Select the student by checking the box next to their name that you would like to send out a Kudos/Referral/Alert on. Then go to the action dropdown menu, and select Issue Kudos/Referral/Alert. See the second image on the right. You can also issue a Kudos / Referral / Alert from the Student's Profile.
Step 3: Select the Kudos / Referral / Alert reason(s) you believe the student needs assistance with. The reason(s) you choose will connect the student with the appropriate office. See more details on the specific alert reasons.
Step 4: If the Kudos / Referral / Alert is associated with a particular class, fill out that field.
