Categories are system-wide identifiers or student attributes that are used to group students into cohorts. They also appear in Advanced Search, Progress Report, and Campaigns to focus on specific student cohorts. These are pulled directly from Banner on a nightly update.

Section Tags can be manually managed in Navigate. They also appear in Advanced Search, Progress Report, and Campaigns to focus on specific student cohorts. These can be manually added by the HCC Navigate team if the student cohorts are not captured in Banner.
