Personal AvaLiablity Link (PAL)

Personal Availability Links (PAL) are a quick way to schedule an appointment with a specific staff or faculty member.

  • Each PAL is unique to a staff member in Navigate.

  • The link does not change over time.

When students first click on your PAL, they are first taken to the Navigate Student Login page. Students need to log in using their HCC username and password. Once logged in, the student has to click on the PAL again to select one of your available services.

When students click on the PAL the second time, it will redirect them based on the device they are using:

  • On a computer, it will redirect them to the scheduling page in the student’s browser.

  • On a smartphone, it will ask if they want to continue in the Navigate Student App or in their browser.

The staff user and their Care Units and Support Services are visible to students using the PAL.

  • Students then select the service they want to make the appointment for.

  • Students will only see the Care Unit, Services, and Locations and times the staff user has selected to be part of their PAL in the staff availability setup.

To apply an availability to your Personal Availability Link, you need go to "My Availability Tab" and:

  • check the box "Add this availability to your personal availability link" when creating or editing an availability, or

  • select existing availabilities, click Actions menu, and choose to "Add to Personal Link"

Schedule an appointment with me using the steps below:

  1. If you are using a computer: first log into Navigate before scheduling an appointment with me.

    • If you are using a smartphone: first download "Navigate Student" App in App Store/Google Play and log in using your HCC username and password.

  2. After you log into Navigate, click this link (insert your unique PAL from Availability Tab) and open the Navigate App to schedule an appointment with me.

These are the steps a student would take to use your PAL link on their smartphone:

  1. After clicking your PAL, it will direct them to download/open the Navigate Student App or continue in their browser (Chrome or Firefox works best). If they have not downloaded the app yet, follow the steps below. If they already downloaded the app, direct them to Step 5.

  2. Download Navigate Student app from App Store or Google Play Store.

  3. Search for Holyoke Community College.

  4. Log in using their HCC Email Username (without '@hcc.edu') and Password. If they can not log in, they may need to contact IT Helpdesk to reset their password for their HCC email.

  5. Once logged into the Navigate Student App, they may need to go back to your PAL link and click it again. If they were already logged into the Navigate App, after step 1, they will be directed to the scheduling page. The student selects the service you want them to meet with you about (example: Spring registration) or whichever service they choose.

  6. Only your availability will show under the selected service for the student to make the appointment with you.
