Student Council hosted Senior Sunrise for the class of 2024 on Sept. 7th at the football stadium.

Marking the first day for sophomores, juniors, and seniors, most of the senior class gathered at 6:30 a.m. with blankets and pillows to sit in the brisk 60 degree morning to launch the beginning of senior year.

Watching the sunrise wasn’t the only thing a senior could do, however. There were other activities to keep the students entertained, including a photo frame board for pictures with friends, a jean painting station, a bracelet making station, and music to create a fun environment. For breakfast, there were donuts from Winco and coffee from Starbucks.

The jean painting and bracelet making stations consisted of a couple tables put together in line with the Northern field goal. Paint was provided for jeans that people brought for themselves. All the supplies for the bracelets were available for students, including a variety of beads and string.

An estimated $350 was spent on everything provided at the event, consisting of the food and entertainment for students, making it one of the easier events to plan and coordinate for the Student Council.

As for its preparation, it seems to have been a relatively low-key process. Activities Director, Mrs. Stiff, says it is the most fun, “chill way to start the school year.”
