In the competition section, seniors Demarcus Stephens and Chaz Guinan delivered a comedic duo short scene, which  left a well-received performance. The technical category allowed them to excel with both seniors, Emily Keil was awarded showcase finalist, the second highest recognition for Lightning Design, and Kama Deiu was rewarded for All Around Superior in stage management for the winter play, She Kills Monsters.

The festival offered a program of workshops where students could participate in many things, ranging from stage combat to dance and makeup, providing an opportunity for students to explore other interests they might be interested in to enhance their theater skills. David Douglas was not only treating others with their phenomenal performance but were treated to “Chicago,” “Alice by Heart,” and “The Curious Incident of a Dog at Night-Time.”

David Douglas ended with “Good Cop, Bad Cop,” directed by Kaitlyn Borsesen which had many seniors from Mr. Givler’s Theater 4 class. “The play is kind of like a send-up, like Law and Order, two officers who have no idea what they’re doing,” Givler said. “It’s a silly comedy. Someone even takes a huge bite of a raw onion at some point.” The play piece was a standout performance with humor and many unexpected moments.
