Similar to previous school years’ beginnings, there is a chromebook shortage, despite this year’s decrease in enrolled students. In addition to this, students have also been frequently facing issues with the chromebooks given to them.

“I’ve had to get three new chromebooks in the span of three weeks,” said senior Lily WIlliams.

Some of the issues that Williams mentioned were log-in issues, as well as issues with the trackpad.

Although the media center’s main IT specialist Samuel Francois will be on family leave for the next 6 weeks, there will still be help in the media center, as Jessica Pham will be taking over until his return.

When chromebook issues arise, students are asked to go to the Media Center next to the library. The library, though, does not offer assistance with these problems. Students also should know that the book room is only for getting new chromebooks, when directed by a teacher.

According to Pham, some of the most common problems that students come in with are Wi-Fi related issues. Pham explained that an easy fix for these problems is to simply restart the chromebook. Further help would be needed if that does not resolve the complications.

“Don’t be shy if you have any questions. Be open,” said Pham.
