NATIONAL TECHNOLOGY STANDARDS (2016):

6. Creative Communicator

Creative Communicator Students communicate clearly and express themselves creatively for a variety of purposes using the platforms, tools, styles, formats and digital media appropriate to their goals. Students:

a. choose the appropriate platforms and tools for meeting the desired objectives of their creation or communication.

b. create original works or responsibly repurpose or remix digital resources into new creations.

d. publish or present content that customizes the message and medium for their intended audiences.


OBJECTIVE:

  • The student will create a word processing document tells a story about the shoes he or she is wearing.


LEARNING TARGET(S):

  • GRADES 5-6: I can open a Microsoft Word document, edit it, save it to the Network Drive and print it.
  • GRADES 7-12: I can open a Microsoft Word document, edit it, add graphics and tables (if necessary), save it to the Network Drive, print it, upload it to Google Drive, share it with the instructor and transfer the file to the Network Server.


REQUIRED APPLICATIONS:

  • Word Processor (as directed)
    • Microsoft Word

DIRECTIONS (MICROSOFT WORD):

  1. Open Microsoft Word
  2. Insert>Header>Type "These Shoes"
  3. Footer
    1. Name
    2. Grade
  4. You will create an essay that tells as story about your shoes. For example:
    1. When you bought them
    2. Somewhere you went while wearing them
    3. A fun activity that you did while you had them on


SUBMITTED WORK:

  • This file should be printed in Room 408. Follow the instructions for your word processor. (Grades 7-12 must also share the file via Google Docs and The Network Server)


SCORING GUIDE:

  • This is a simple assignment that must be printed in Room 408. You will earn 20 points for completing this assignment but there will be no deduction for spelling, grammar or structure.
  • If you ever have a question on a grade please see the instructor!


LATE WORK/MAKE-UP ASSIGNMENT:

  • If you are absent from school or do not complete the assignment on time, you must inform Mr. Lesnansky to check the assignment. This needs to be done early in the grading period as it creates a storage system for all of the documents that you will be creating this year. (NOTE: A point deduction may be enforced for late work not due to an excused absence.)
