Grade 9-12

• Synthesize textual, visual, and quantitative research and data (images, diagrams, maps, graphs, infographics, videos, animations, interactives, etc.) from a variety of digital learning tools and resources.

OBJECTIVE:

  • The student will research strange images found on Google Earth.



DIRECTIONS:

  1. Watch the You Tube videos posted below.
  2. Go to Google Earth
  3. Look for one or more of these places:
  • Missile Test, Circleville, Utah, USA
  • Firefox Crop Circle, Dayton, Oregon, USA
  • Ocean Liner in the Middle of a City, Hung Hom, China
  • The Badlands Guardian, Walsh, Alberta, Canada
  • Airplane Graveyard, Tucson, Arizona, USA
  • Unexplained Fighter Jet in Car Lot, Ville d’Avray, France
  • Massive Rabbit, Artesina, Italy
  • The Blood Lake, Baghdad, Iraq
  • Satellite Swastika, Coronado, California, USA
  • Giant Colonel Sanders, Alamo, Nevada, USA

4. You may also find your own mystery not on the list. For example try these coordinates:

  • If you are absent from school or do not complete the assignment on time, you must print your Google Doc form work to the printer labeled PROD LAB 408 or HS 408. DO NOT SUBMIT THE FORM AS IT IS NOT GRADED AFTER THE INTITAL COLLECTION. The Google Doc will not be graded again only the printed responses will be graded. (NOTE: A point deduction may be enforced for late work not due to an excused absence.)
