STRAND: Design and Technology
Addresses the nature of technology to develop and improve products and systems over time to meet human/societal needs and wants through design processes.
Topic 4: Evaluate designs using functional, aesthetic and creative elements.
Grade 3-5
• Use criteria developed with guidance to evaluate a new or improved product for its functional, aesthetic and creative elements.
Grade 6-8
• Examine the progression of a product to identify how the functional, aesthetic and creative elements were applied.
Grade 9-12
• Critically evaluate a design solution at multiple points of the design process. Consider design requirements and adjust processes and outcomes as needed.

DIRECTIONS:
- Watch the following YouTube video (ABOVE)
- Open Adobe Illustrator CC
- Create a New Project as shown in the video
- Play with the different controls that are shown
- You will create a Fun Vector Monster that:
- Face color changed from Default Color (not white)
- Two (or more) eyes
- Mouth
- Tooth (or teeth)
- See Examples Below
- File>Save As>Navigate to your Google Drive and save the file as an AI extension
- File>Export>Export As>Navigate to your Google Drive and save the file as a JPG
- NOTE: This will take more than one period. Get as far as you can each day in pursuit of your own monster.

LATE WORK/MAKE-UP ASSIGNMENT:
- If you are absent from school or do not complete the assignment on time, you must inform Mr. Lesnansky to check the assignment. This needs to be done early in the grading period as it creates a storage system for all of the documents that you will be creating this year. (NOTE: A point deduction may be enforced for late work not due to an excused absence.)
