1.1 STRAND: Information and Communications Technology
The understanding and application of digital learning tools for accessing, creating, evaluating, applying and communicating ideas and information.
Topic 1: Identify and use appropriate digital learning tools and resources to accomplish a defined task.
Grade 3-5
• Explain the use of selected digital learning tools and resources to support productivity and learning.
Grade 6-8
• Evaluate the use of digital learning tools and resources to support learning and productivity.
Grade 9-12
• Analyze and evaluate the ease of use and effectiveness of available features of selected digital learning tools and resources.
LEARNING TARGETS:
GRADES 5-6: I can evaluate my keyboarding rate (measured in words per minute) with the goal of 20 wpm.
GRADES 7-8: I can evaluate my keyboarding rate (measured in words per minute) with the goal of 30 wpm.
GRADES 9-12: I can evaluate my keyboarding rate (measured in words per minute) with the goal of 40 wpm.

Write your score on the paper provided and submit to the instructor.
LATE WORK/MAKE-UP ASSIGNMENT:
If you are absent from school or do not complete the assignment on time, you must print your Google Doc form work to the printer labeled PROD LAB 408 or HS 408. DO NOT SUBMIT THE FORM AS IT IS NOT GRADED AFTER THE INTITAL COLLECTION. The Google Doc will not be graded again only the printed responses will be graded. (NOTE: A point deduction may be enforced for late work not due to an excused absence.)
FURTHER ENRICHMENT AND STUDY:
DoK1: Change the variables for the test (time limit, selected story) and see if your performance improves.
DoK2: Do an Internet search to find some of the keys to improving your speed and accuracy in keyboarding.
DoK3: Try http://www.rankmytyping.com/ (Single Player). Did you do better or worse?
DoK4: Learn 10 Key By Touch The 10 key pad is the group of numbers and symbols on the right side of most keyboards, it can also be a number pad with no keyboard attached. Ten key speed is measured with a Keystrokes per Hour Test. http://official-typing-test.com/test/ten.html
