Google Apps (G Suite)

NATIONAL TECHNOLOGY STANDARDS:

4. Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, and Decision Making

Students use critical thinking skills to plan and conduct research, manage projects, solve problems, and make informed decisions using appropriate digital tools and resources. Students:

a. identify and define authentic problems and significant questions for investigation.

b. plan and manage activities to develop a solution or complete a project..

c. collect and analyze data to identify solutions and/or make informed decisions.

d. use multiple processes and diverse perspectives to explore alternative solutions.

OBJECTIVE:

The student will login to their Brookfield Google Accounts and explore the Google Drive and the other available Apps.

LEARNING TARGETS:

  • GRADES 5-6: I can login and use my Google Account to get on the Internet.
  • GRADES 7-8: I can login and use my Google Account to get on the Internet and upload files to my Google Drive.
  • GRADES 9-12: I can login and use my Google Account to get on the Internet, upload files to my Google Drive and use the available Google Apps.

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Open https://www.google.com/
  2. Look for and click the blue "Sign In" button
  3. Your credentials are:
    1. UN: firstname.lastname@brookfield.k12.oh.us
    2. PW: student ID + however many zeroes to make eight (8) characters
  4. Example:
    1. UN: george.lesnansky@brookfield.k12.oh.us
    2. PW: 12345000 OR 12345600
  5. Once your UN appears in the upper right hand corner of the Google Window you are identified as a Google User.
  6. Now that you are logged in and identified you have access to a variety of Google Apps including:
    1. Docs
    2. Sheets
    3. Drive
    4. Slides
    5. SketchUp for Schools
    6. Draw
    7. Forms
    8. Sites
    9. and many many more...
