OHIO LEARNING STANDARDS FOR TECHNOLOGY (2017):

1.2 STRAND: Information and Communications Technology

The understanding and application of digital learning tools for accessing, creating, evaluating, applying and communicating ideas and information.

Topic 2: Use digital learning tools and resources to locate, evaluate and use information.

Grades 3-5

• Use multiple criteria developed with guidance to differentiate between relevant and irrelevant information found with digital learning tools and resources.

Grades 6-8

• Use multiple criteria to evaluate the validity of information found with digital learning tools and resources.

Grades 9-12

• Independently construct an evaluative process for information sources chosen for a learning task.


LEARNING TARGETS:

  • GRADES 5-6: I can draw a picture, download it from the Network Drive and edit it using simple editing software.
  • GRADES 7-8: I can draw a picture, download it from the Network Drive and edit it making prescribed changes using simple editing software.
  • GRADES 9-12: I can draw a picture, download it from the Network Drive and edit it using simple complex editing software.


ACTIVITIES:

  1. Chose one of the YouTube videos above
  2. Try to draw the illusion that is presented
  3. When you are done, submit your creation to Mr. Lesnansky
  4. The image will be scanned and uploaded to a Shared Folder
  5. You will have access to the folder to download and edit the image.
  6. As you watch the video, try to draw the figure along with the artist.
  7. You may pause and rewind the video as necessary.
  8. You will use 8 ½ inch by 11 inch 20# Bond copy paper that you have been provided.
  9. Once The Old Key is done, turn it in the Mr. Lesnansky
  10. Once you submit the drawing to Mr. Lesnansky, it will be scanned and converted to a computer file (.jpg) and made available for you to digitally edit.
  11. Now open your file using a digital editing application.
  12. Edit the picture.
  13. You MUST make at least three (3) changes from the original file.
  14. Save the new file with a different filename.


EXTRA CREDIT:

  • Once you have completed your drawing it will be digitized. You may do a second drawing for EXTRA CREDIT that will then be digitized and added to your collection.


SUBMITTED WORK:

  • You must give your drawing to your instructor.
  • It will be scanned and converted to a JPG image (digitized)
  • You will then be able to get it back via Google Drive


LATE WORK/MAKE-UP ASSIGNMENT:

  • If you are absent from school or do not complete the assignment on time, you must inform Mr. Lesnansky to check the assignment. This needs to be done early in the grading period as it creates a storage system for all of the documents that you will be creating this year. (NOTE: A point deduction may be enforced for late work not due to an excused absence.)

  1. DoK1: Can you find the Chris Hart You Tube Channel?
  2. DoK2: Can you draw something else from the series?
  3. DoK3: What other types of Self-Help videos can you find online?
  4. DoK4: Are there any drawing videos that you find to be better than the Christopher Hart series?
