OHIO LEARNING STANDARDS FOR TECHNOLOGY (2017):

STRAND: Design and Technology

Addresses the nature of technology to develop and improve products and systems over time to meet human/societal needs and wants through design processes.

Topic 1: Define and describe technology, including its core concepts of systems, resources, requirements, processes, controls, optimization and trade-offs.

Grade 3-5

• Analyze how tools, materials and processes are used to alter the natural and human- designed worlds.

Grade 6-8

• Give examples of how requirements for a product can limit the design possibilities for that product.

Grade 9-12

• Discuss how the design process builds on the core concepts of technology, including the relationship between systems.

LEARNING TARGETS:

  • Using a prescribed YouTube video I can create working, scale model 4x2 Lego Block.

APPLICATIONS REQUIRED:

    • Windows 10
  • DIGITAL EDITING PROGRAM(S):
    • Fusion 360

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Watch the following YouTube video/ (SEE ABOVE)
  2. Refer to the model shown in the video and posted below.
  3. Open Fusion 360
  4. Create a New Project
  5. Save it in Fusion 360
  6. Create an STL file for printing

    • Check the 3D box off
    • Click the model
    • OK
    • Navigate to your Google Drive and save the STL

SUBMITTED WORK:

  • 20 POINTS: This work will be uploaded to Google Classroom

LATE WORK/MAKE-UP ASSIGNMENT:

  • If you are absent from school or do not complete the assignment on time, you must inform Mr. Lesnansky to check the assignment. This needs to be done early in the grading period as it creates a storage system for all of the documents that you will be creating this year. (NOTE: A point deduction may be enforced for late work not due to an excused absence.)

FURTHER STUDY, ENRICHMENT AND DEPTH OF KNOWLEDGE (LEVELS 1-4):

  1. DoK1: Can you find the the Fusion 360 YouTube Channel?
  2. DoK2: Can you draw something else from the Channel?
  3. DoK3: What other types materials or projects can you think of?of Self-Help videos can you find online?
  4. DoK4: Can you create the objects?
