Important Reminder:
We will send home graded/completed work on Wednesdays. There will be a green sheet for you to sign weekly showing that you have seen (and removed) all of their work. Forms from the office will also be included. Students have labeled the front pocket in their binder "Take Home".

Reading: This is a review week as we wrap up Unit 2 on Ancient American Civilizations! I have enjoyed learning alongside them and am looking forward to seeing their final Codex projects. They will be hung in the halls for awhile and then sent home.
Morphology: Concepts to review: Latin root tract and prefixes il-/ir- and inter-
Grammar: Concepts to review: Identify subject and predicate in sentences, action verbs vs. linking verbs, and use of words or phrases that compare or contrast.
Homework: **Unit 2: Middle Ages Assessment will be on Wednesday, Nov. 6th
The large majority of this assessment will assess reading skills. They will read passages and answer multiple choice and short answer questions. This portion does NOT require any studying! A small portion is over grammar and morphology that was learned during this unit. Students completed a study guide Monday and we will review more on Tuesday as well. They more than likely will not get to the grammar and morphology portion on Wednesday. We will finish up on Thursday!

Math: Mrs. Bennett
We will participate in a lesson on the Electoral College where are driving questions will be: How does math impact the outcome of the presidential election? We will look at elections where the candidate who won the popular vote, did not win the electoral vote, and how this works mathematically.
The remainder of the week, students are starting their next Module: Multiply Decimals and Whole Numbers. Students will use their knowledge from the beginning of the year to multiply decimals by powers of 10 that are both greater than and less than 1. Students will write and explain how to use a pattern to place a decimal point in a product. We will also begin to estimate products when a factor is a decimal both greater than and less than 1.

Social Studies: Mrs. Crush
This week, students will continue to evaluate the rights, roles, responsibilities and limitations of the concept of citizen in Classical Greece and Rome. We will read different excerpts and short videos about Classical Greece and Rome. Students will then be divided into small groups and assigned a "citizen" role to act out. Each group will share their perspectives and discuss the following:
Who had more rights and responsibilities?
How would it feel to be excluded from citizenship?

This week in Religion, we will complete Chapter 6: The Holy Family. Students will:
learn the the Temple in Jerusalem was the central place of worship for the people of Israel during Jesus' day.
learn the Jesus, Mary, and Joseph modeled justice and other related virtues through their obedience to Jewish laws and customs concerning worship.
come to know how every member of the Holy Family lived with obedience to God and one another.
begin to understand that prayer is just a response of worship to God.
know that we imitate Mary through the practice of mental prayer.
