Do you have an interest in the video games industry? This qualification will teach you how to become involved in writing, designing and producing computer games. An industry employing thousands of people across Scotland. Using industry standards you will plan, design and create your own video game, as well as researching what makes the world's most popular games so successful.
Units of Study for L5 include:
Design - Research game types and platforms and discover what makes a game successful before creating your own game storyline, level and characters.
Media Assets - Create the characters, backgrounds and sounds for your game
Development - Program, test and publish your own game
Scotland has a booming video game's industry, with universities and colleges offering over 75 computer science and gaming-related courses and over 4,000 people now employed in the creation and development of video games.

Everything you need to know before selecting this course
Homework will be set by the class teacher on a regular basis, this will be available on TEAMs. Activities set may include practice of a practical skill, preparation for assessment or research for an assignment.
Entry is at the discretion of the Principal Teacher Faculty, E&ICT.
Pupil's must be self motivated and willing to complete tasks individually and in small groups to meet deadlines.
This course is internally assessed. By completing unit assessments pupils will generate evidence from a range of practical administration and business activities.
