Section 1

I did not see section 1 today because of the two-hour delay. Students should be ready to enter the Choosing the Right Word. The students who were going to debate today will just go Friday. I also wanted to see the the argument essay shared using Google docs. I am hoping I can have them Friday.

Section 2

We will only have about 45 minutes of class.

Hand out grade slips and awards. Many students are missing the first practice argument essay.

Read through the rubric again.

Read through each of the student examples discussing what is good and what could be improved.

Look at the example in the book, which would be scored a 4 and discuss why it is scored so well.

Section 3

Objectives:

Students will understand basically how the argument essays are scored and what is expected of them

By comparing the samples to their quickly scored essays, they will know what they could have included.
