Objectives:

Students will have a better understanding of the message Mike Rowe is trying to convey in his speech at TED, which is really about what he has learned from Dirty Jobs.

Students will have time to start working on their Value of Work essays.

Agenda

Tell me something good.

Section 1 will enter synonyms and antonyms into the responder

Highlight and discuss the transcript of Mike Rowe's speech. I have made an outline of the main points. Is his speech the best way to convey his message about the value of work?

Watch a Dirty Jobs to identify points from his speech in the episode.

Quiet work time to start on the essay.

(Section 1, come to class tomorrow having read all four book reviews.)

Tomorrow WE WILL have 40 minutes of KBAR time to read for pleasure!
