The objectives for The Diary of Anne Frank focus on knowing the characters and the story of the families hiding in the annex.

Today’s Agenda

1. Warm-up:

Inferencing 7-2

2. Begin listening to The Diary of Anne Frank

    • Why did they go into hiding?
    • What was life like in hiding?
    • How do we come to know the characters so well? (characterization)
    • How do they eventually get caught?
    • What lessons can we take from this play?
    • Read the stage directions and discuss their renditions.
    • Look at some sample from Google
    • Take notes on the appearances of the main characters in their packets.

Whole Group Lesson

Small Group work and/or Lesson Concept clarification.

Vocabulary

There are 15 words I would like the students to learn from The Diary of Anne Frank.

Vocab Homework Schedule:

We will start the vocab book up after break.

We will be pretty much just reading the play and taking notes in the packet up until break.

There should be no major grades until after the break.
