Working Files

Working files are the responsibility of the case manager the following guidelines are given regarding the old working files:

Students who move with-in HSD

    • Send the working file to the new case manager

Students who move out of HSD within Oregon or to another State

    • Keep the working file one year, if the student doesn't return shred the file

Students who are found not eligible for special education

    • Verify that all the required documents are in the student's cum file then shred

Students who Parents Revoke

    • Verify that all the required documents are in the student's cum file then shred, unless you believe that the student will be re-referred within the next year

Private School Students and are not receiving services and are eligible

    • Keep the working file, as we are required to maintain eligibility unless the parent revokes consent

Private School Students who are not eligible for services because they were found not eligible for services

    • Verify that all the required documents are in the student's cum file then shred

Graduating Seniors with a standard diploma

    • Verify that all the required documents are in the student's cum file then shred

Graduating students with any other type of diploma (Modified, Chancellors)

    • Send working file directly to next years case manager
