Behavior Goal Samples

Task Completion

  • When given a task student will begin the task within 2 minutes and remain on task for a minimum of 10 minutes independently with no more than 3 adult prompts to remain on task in 8 out of 10 tasks weekly, as measured by observation and teacher data.

  • Given specially designed instruction in self regulation strategies, student will independently begin a task(preferred and non preferred tasks) within 2 minutes of direction from teacher with 80 % of opportunities daily across all school settings as measured by teacher data.

Self-Regulation

  • Given a specially designed(identifying emotions and finding a solution) and a frustrating problem(non-preferred task), Student will identify the emotion, and determine the appropriate response(take a break, deep breathe, talk to an adult) and return to the task/situation at hand within 5 minutes of the frustration with 80% accuracy as measured by teacher observation, and self reporting data weekly.

Self-Control

  • When given specially designed instruction about personal space, voice, and keeping hands/arms/legs student will demonstrate self control of body and voice in the classroom setting with 80% accuracy daily as measured by teacher observation and data collection.

Class participation

  • Given specially designed instruction in classroom rules and participation, student will raise hand and participate in whole group discussions without blurting out answers 80% of the time daily, as measured by teacher observations.

Self management

  • Given modeling and support, Student will use self-management skills to reduce the number of physical aggression against peers from a baseline of 5 occurrences per day on average to zero, as demonstrated by keeping hands and feet to self when interacting with peers, using appropriate communication to get her needs met, and respecting the personal space of others as measured weekly with behavioral data and teacher observations.
