Independent Educational Evaluations (IEE)
Evaluation Requests by Parent for Independent Educational Evaluation
Parents of students receiving special education services, or suspected of having a disability requiring special education services, may request an evaluation or re-evaluation of their child at any time if they disagree with an evaluation completed by the school district.
The District will review assessments, performance information and parent concerns to determine if an independent educational evaluation or re-evaluation is needed. If needed, an independent educational evaluation will be completed by a qualified professional who does not work for the school district. If not needed, parents will receive written notice of refusal to evaluate and be informed of the procedural safeguards available.
