The Guided Interview is one way to determine the required information for the "transition page" in the students IEP. Information needs to be gathered year beginning with 9th grade through aging out of services. The purpose of the guided interview is to ascertain information on the students PINS (preferences, Interests, Needs and Strengths) a required component of the IEP. These PINS must be updated annually on the student's IEP. In Hillsboro we require that the transition page is required for ALL High School Students beginning their first High School IEP in 9th grade.
