Communication Goal Samples

Language:

Given visual or verbal supports, Student will speak or write the main idea of a text or orally presented material and five or more supporting details related to that main idea, with 80% accuracy as measured by language sample taken two times a month.

Speech:

Given opportunities to speak in supported settings, Student will demonstate knowledge about stuttering, use fluency enhancing techniques, self-monitor her stuttering, decrease struggle, and take a controlled breath and make eye contact before giving a verbal response (when pre-warned), in 4 out of 5 opportunities during at least 2 observations monthly.

Language:

Given specially designed instruction, student will use language for a variety of purposes (initiating, sharing, requesting, asking for help, protesting), use and understand question words, and speak in sentences of appropriate length and complexity for kindergarten in at least 2 observations weekly as measured by speech samples, probes by Speech Language Pathologist.

Language:

Given specialized instruction as well as verbal and visual supports, Student will produce vocabulary and grammar concepts, following auditory directions, answer comprehension questions, and retell information with 80% accuracy 4/5 weekly opportunities as measured by language data and probes.
