TNT CANCELS "DALLAS"

After a two-week wait, we got the final decision about the TNT continuation of Dallas:

"TNT has decided not to renew Dallas. We are extremely proud of the series, which defied expectations by standing as a worthy continuation of the Ewing saga. We want to thank everyone involved with the show, from the extraordinary cast to the impeccable production team, led by the show’s creative forces, Cynthia Cidre and Mike Robin. We especially want to thank the people of Dallas for their warm and generous hospitality during the production of the series."

It´s been a rewarding experience watching the show week to week, commenting the episodes with friends and forum posters and seeing our beloved actors reprising their former roles: PATRICK DUFFY as BOBBY, LINDA GRAY as SUE ELLEN, TED SHACKELFORD as GARY, STEVE KANALY as RAY, CHARLENE TILTON as LUCY, AUDREY LANDERS as AFTON, JOAN VAN ARK as VALENE, CATHY PODEWELL as CALLY, DEBORAH SHELTON as MANDY and, very especially, KEN KERCHEVAL as CLIFF and late LARRY HAGMAN as the one and only J.R. EWING. Thanks to this sequel, we have got to know them much better through their interviews in the media.

SUPERSOAPS wants to thank all of them their participation in the new show, and also express our gratitude towards the young stars who played the adult versions of the characters we knew as children: JOSH HENDERSON as JOHN ROSS III, JESSE METCALFE as CHRISTOPHER, and JULIE GONZALO as PAMELA REBECCA COOPER EWING. You will be remembered and hopefully this will be the beginning of a whole new, long career for the three of you.

The person in control of this continuation insisted on turning a Texan saga into a senseless Mexican spin-off. Even so, the Latin actors who appeared as her new characters did a wonderful job: JORDANA BREWSTER as Elena, LEONOR VARELA as MARTA, CARLOS BERNARD as VICENTE, CÁSTULO GUERRA as CARLOS, KUNO BECKER as DREW, ALEX FERNANDEZ as Roy, JUAN PABLO DI PACE as NICOLÁS, ANGÉLICA CELAYA as LUCÍA, ANTONIO JARAMILLO as LUIS, MIGUEL SANDOVAL as ORESTES, and MARLENE FORTE as CARMEN.

Of course, we also appreciate the wonderful work of other main stars like BRENDA STRONG as ANN, EMMA BELL as EMMA, MITCH PILEGGI as HARRIS, JUDITH LIGHT as JUDITH, CALLARD HARRIS as TOMMY, KEVIN PAGE as BUM, FARAN TAHIR as FRANK, ANNIE WERSCHING as ALLISON, MELINDA CLARKE as TRACEY, FRANK KRANZ as HUNTER, LEE MAJORS as KEN, STEVEN WEBER as SAM, DONNY BOAZ as BO, and ANNALYNNE McCORD as HEATHER. You did your best, but the writers didn´t.

LONG LIVE TO THE WHOLE SAGA OF "DALLAS", OLD AND NEW!!!

Después de una espera de dos semanas, ya conocemos la decisión final sobre el futuro de la nueva Dallas:

"TNT ha decidido no renovar Dallas. Nos sentimos muy orgullosos de la serie, que superó nuestras expectativas como digna continuación de la saga de los Ewing. Damos las gracias a todos los implicados en la serie, desde los extraordinarios actores al impecable equipo de producción, encabezado por sus fuerzas creativas (!), Cynthia Cidre y Mike Robin. En especial queremos darle las gracias a la gente de Dallas por su cálida y generosa hospitalidad durante el rodaje de la serie."

Volver a seguir la serie semana a semana ha resultado una experiencia gratificante, así como comentar los episodios con los amigos y los foreros. y ver a nuestros queridos actores retomando sus antiguos papeles: PATRICK DUFFY como BOBBY, LINDA GRAY como SUE ELLEN, TED SHACKELFORD como GARY, STEVE KANALY como RAY, CHARLENE TILTON como LUCY, AUDREY LANDERS como AFTON, JOAN VAN ARK como VALENE, CATHY PODEWELL como CALLY, DEBORAH SHELTON como MANDY y, muy especialmente, a KEN KERCHEVAL como CLIFF y al desaparecido LARRY HAGMAN como el singular J.R. EWING. Gracias a esta secuela, hemos podido conocerles mucho mejor mediante las entrevistas concedidas a los medios de comunicación.

Desde SUPERSOAPS queremos darles las gracias a todos ellos por su participación en la nueva serie, y también a los jóvenes actores que interpretaron a las versiones adultas de los personajes que conocimos como niños: JOSH HENDERSON como JOHN ROSS III, JESSE METCALFE como CHRISTOPHER y JULIE GONZALO como PAMELA REBECCA. Os recordaremos y esperamos que este sea el comienzo de una nueva y extensa carrera para los tres.

La persona que controlaba esta continuación insistió en convertir una saga tejana en una secuela mejicana sin sentido. Disteis lo mejor de vosotros mismos, pero no así los guionistas.
