(DOUG SHEEHAN desaparece de la cabecera, ahora con nuevo diseño y una sola imagen en blanco y negro de cada actor. A partir del séptimo episodio y del décimo, respectivamente, también CONSTANCE cCASHIN (que reaparece en un vídeo en el episodio 11) y JULIE HARRIS. Cinco semanas después, nadie es capaz de localizar a PETER. VAL echa de menos a BEN, y se reconcilia por fin con LAURA. ABBY está muy preocupada por OLIVIA, que sufre pesadillas y vuelve a comportarse de un modo infantil. MACK traba amistad con uno de sus mensajeros, AL BAKER. PAIGE interroga a GREG sobre el tema de su paternidad, y él le da un apasionado beso para demostrarle que no es su padre. Luego MACK y PAIGE descubren que comparten su alergia al melón y, por tanto, deben de ser padre e hija. La grieta en el suelo del parque de L.P. ha empeorado, y los obreros dicen que es estructural y habrá que volver a echar el cemento. ABBY quiere que se añada un parche, pero GARY y KAREN votan para que se retire el cemento. Entonces, el cadáver de PETER reaparece...

After 5 weeks, no one can find Peter. Val grieves over Ben, and makes up with Laura. Abby's really worried about Olivia, who has been having nightmares, and has reverted to infantile behavior. Mack becomes friendly with a man from his messenger service, Al Baker. Paige goes to Greg, concerned about her paternity. He plants a passionate kiss on her to prove he's not her father. Then Mack and Paige discover that they are both allergic to cantaloupe, so he must be her father! The crack at the Lotus Point playground gets worse. Workmen say it's structural, and needs to come out. Abby just wants it patched, but Gary and Karen out vote her. The workmen remove the cement and find Peter's body.

3/193: "UNDER PRESSURE" ("BAJO PRESIÓN")

AL empieza a frecuentar la oficina de MACK y su secretaria PEGGY sospecha que no tiene casa. PAIGE tiene pesadillas y MACK cree que es raro que ella le dejara a PETER varios mensajes amistosos en el contestador, dado que estaba enfadada con él. OLIVIA tiene miedo de hablar con el Detective GARCIA, y acude a casa de VAL en vez de someterse al interrogatorio. GARY quiere contratar un abogado, pero ABBY dice que eso sólo la hará parecer más culpable. El detective por fin habla con OLIVIA, y saca a relucir el medallón. Ella asegura que se lo había devuelto a PETER. El se hace con varios hilos de su uniforme escolar, y estos encajan con los hallados en el cuerpo del senador. La policía vuelve y acusa a OLIVIA de haber cometido el asesinato. Entonces, ABBY confiesa ser ella quien lo hizo...

Al Baker starts to hang around Mac's office, and his secretary Peggy suspects he's homeless. Paige has nightmares, and Mac thinks it's odd that Paige left Peter several friendly messages when he knew she was mad at him. Olivia's scared to talk to Mac and Detective Garcia, and runs to Val's instead of meeting with them. Gary wants to get an attorney, but Abby says that will just make her look guilty. Detective finally questions Olivia, and takes out the locket. Olivia says she had given it back to Peter. Detective Garcia pats her on the shoulder, but is really taking fibers from her school uniform. The fibers match fibers found on Peter's body, and police go back and accuse Olivia of the murder. Abby says she killed Peter.

LAURA regresa a casa tras haber dejado a sus hijos en casa de RICHARD. JILL está furiosa porque GARY no cree que ABBY matara a PETER y le pide que se mantenga al margen de la investigación. OLIVIA queda en libertad bajo fianza, y le dice a GARY que ABBY mató a PETER por su causa. El ríe aliviado, porque sabe que OLIVIA no lo hizo. Luego se lo cuenta a ABBY y esta se sienta a hablar con ella del tema. Cada una pensó que la otra había matado a PETER, y se abrazan contentas, para luego ir a decirle la verdad a la policía. MACK ruega a PAIGE que le explique todo lo que ocurrió la última vez que habló con PETER...

Laura returns home and tells Greg she left the boys with Richard. Jill's angry that Gary doesn't think Abby killed Peter, and she tells him to stay out of the investigation. Out on bail, Olivia tells Gary that Abby killed Peter because of her. Gary laughs with relief, because he knows that Olivia didn't kill him. Gary calls and tells Abby, who then sits down with Olivia to talk. They explain how they each thought the other had killed Peter, and laugh and cry and hug. They go to the police and tell the truth. Mack asks Paige to tell him everything that happened at her last meeting with Peter.

5/195: "THERE ARE SMILES" ("HAY CIERTAS SONRISAS...")

LILIMAE está preocupada porque VAL sigue pensando en BEN y le sugiere que pruebe la terapia de la sonrisa. AL muestra a MACK la caravana en la que vive, y LILIMAE se comporta de forma grosera con él. VAL le dice a GARY que es el padre de los gemelos. JILL le confiesa que está harta de sus exmujeres, hijastros e hijos secretos, y se va de su casa. Luego, se reconcilian y ella regresa. PAIGE reconoce ante MACK que PETER cayó encima de un pinchapapeles mientras discutían. La policía no presenta cargos contra ella porque fue un accidente, pero MACK la obliga a disculparse ante las personas a las que hizo daño. Ella pide perdón a GREG, que asegura que tiene suerte de que no sea su padre, porque él la castigaría como la mocosa que es. Después va a ver a ABBY:

"He pensado sobre la muerte de PETER, y siento mucho...que te librases de la cárcel" - le dice a ABBY. "Todo fue culpa tuya. Si no le hubieras obligado a romper conmigo, esto no habría pasado." "Yo no le obligué, a él no le importabas lo más mínimo." - responde ella. "¿Ah, sí? Bueno, creo que tenías miedo de que te lo quitara una mujer más joven. No soportabas la competencia..." - añade PAIGE. "Lo que no soporto es que nos causaras a mi hija y a mí a tantos problemas, y, tarde o temprano, me las pagarás..." "Oh, gracias por la advertencia, haré que alguien pruebe mi comida antes..." LAURA se marcha de L.P. y revela a GREG dando rodeos que sufre una enfermedad mortal...

Lilimae is worried that Val isn't getting over Ben, and tells her she should try smile therapy. Al lives in his station wagon, and brings it to the MacKenzies to show Mack. Lilimae is very rude to Al. Val tells Gary he is the father of the twins. Jill tells Gary that she is sick of his ex-wives, stepchildren and secret children, and moves out. Later they make up, and she moves back in. Paige admits to Mack that Peter fell on a spindle when they argued. Since it was an accident, the police don't press charges, but Mack says she needs to apologize to people she hurt. Paige apologizes to Greg, who says she's lucky that Mack is her father because he'd hang a snot like her out to dry. Then she goes to see Abby:

"I've been thinking about Peter's death. And I'm so sorry...that you ever got off the hook" - she tells Abby. "It was all your fault. If you hadn't made Peter break up with me, none of this ever would've happened." "I didn't make Peter do anything, he couldn't have cared less about you" - Abby answers. "Yeah? Well, you were afraid of losing him to a younger woman. You couldn't stand the competition - adds Paige. "What I can't stand is that you put my daughter and me through a lot of trouble over this, and sooner or later I'm gonna make you pay for it." "Oh, thanks for the warning. I'll have someone taste my food." Laura quits Lotus Point, and tells Greg in a round-about way that she is dying.

6/196: "THE GIFT OF LIFE" ("EL REGALO DE LA VIDA")

LAURA padece un tumor cerebral inoperable. GREG la lleva de un especialista a otro, pero todos tienen la misma opinión, y ella acaba pidiéndole que lo acepte. Luego LAURA lleva a KAREN de compras para los cumpleaños de la niña, y KAREN adivina, llorosa, que se está muriendo. LAURA pide a MACK y KAREN que sean los padrinos de MEG, y GREG llega tarde al bautizo, ya que se ha quedado fuera llorando. Su mujer le deja una lista de cosas que deberá hacer con la niña, como conseguirle el carné de la biblioteca. Le dice que, si se porta muy bien con MEG, compensará todas las veces que no la trató bien. GREG se enfurece porque LAURA quiere ir a una clínica de MINNESOTA a morir:

"Mira, sólo voy a seguir un tratamiento, nada más. Quiero estar sola, es mi elección..." "¿Por qué no dejas de decir eso? ¿Qué diablos soy yo, un cero a la izquierda?" - explota GREG - Yo también tengo derecho a elegir, sabes...y elijo estar contigo... ¿Quieres que imagine cómo te encontrarás? Imagina tú cómo me encuentro yo cuando me dices que no puedo estar allí." Pero LAURA se ha decidido en firme: "No quiero que me veas morir, así de simple." GREG se queda destrozado mientras LAURA hace las maletas y se marcha, dejando unas cintas de vídeo dentro de una caja de sombreros. Observa a GREG dando de comer a MEG, y luego sube a su coche y se va, llorando...

Laura has an inoperable cancerous brain tumor. Greg drags her from Doctor to Doctor, who all say the same thing. Laura finally tells Greg he needs to accept it. Laura takes Karen shopping and buys dresses for Meg's 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th birthdays. Karen guesses Laura is dying and is very upset. Laura asks Mac and Greg to be Meg's godparents. Greg is late to the Christening, as he's outside in his car sobbing. Laura makes a schedule for Greg to follow with Meg, such as when to get her a library card. She tells him that if he's great to Meg, it'll make up for all the times Greg was rotten to her. Greg's furious that Laura wants to go to a clinic in Minnesota to die:

"Look, I'm just going away for treatment, that's all. I wanna be alone, it's my choice." "Will you quit saying that? What the Hell am I, nothing? A zero? - explodes Greg - I have a choice too, ya know...and I choose to BE there! You want me to imagine how you feel? Well, try to imagine how I feel when you say that I can't be there." But Laura is determined: "I just don't want you to watch me, it's that simple." Greg is devastated as Laura packs. She leaves some video tapes in a hatbox. Meg is crying, and Laura brings her to Greg. She watches Greg feed Meg, and then gets into her car, and drives away crying.

7/197: "SAY UNCLE" ("DI TÍO")

MICHAEL salva de ahogarse a una chica llamada JODY, y se siente avergonzado cuando se le toma por un héroe. GREG contrata a una niñera pero sólo hasta que vulva LAURA. LILIMAE se lleva mejor con AL y él le pide una cita. La mujer se sorprende al saber que vive en su coche, y cenan a un lado de la carretera, y empieza a surgir algo entre ellos. OLIVIA sigue sufriendo por PETER, por lo que ABBY le habla de su primer amor, CHARLES. GARY se ofende cuando VAL no le invita a la primera fiesta de cumpleaños de los gemelos, y le dice que quiere participar en sus vidas, pero ella se niega. GARY ruega a LILIMAE que le ayude, y VAL le dice a su madre que él no es de fiar y los niños no pueden perder más de un padre. Al final, VAL cede y lleva a los niños al rancho para ver a GARY, y a JILL no le hace gracia. KAREN sostiene una reunión con unas personas que quieren organizar una convención en L.P. Ella y ABBY se llevan una enorme sorpresa cuando conocen a su jefe: es el antiguo novio de ABBY, CHARLES...

Michael saves a girl - Jody - from drowning, and is embarrassed when he makes her out to be a hero. Greg hires a nanny, stressing it's only until Laura returns. Lilimae warms to Al, and he asks her out. She's shocked that he lives in his car, and they have dinner by the side of the road. Romance begins to bud. Olivia still grieves Peter, so Abby tells her about her first love, Charles. Gary is hurt when Val doesn't invite him to the twins first birthday party. He tells Val he wants to be in their life, but she says no. Gary implores Lilimae's help. Val tells Lilimae that Gary is unreliable, and how many fathers can the twins lose? Val finally relents and brings the twins to the ranch to see Gary. Jill doesn't like this. Karen meets with some men to arrange a convention for them at Lotus Point. She's shocked when she meets their boss. It's Abby's old boyfriend Charles.

8/198: "LOVE IN" ("LLEGA EL AMOR")

Todos se reúnen en casa de GREG, que finge encontrarse bien. RICHARD vuelve con los niños y observa que es muy relevador que LAURA eligiera morir sola en vez de con ellos:

"Todo el mundo sabe que K.L. es la comunidad más perfecta del mundo, una auténtica utopía" - exclama un furioso RICHARD. "¿Por qué te muestras tan crítico?" - le pregunta ABBY. "LAURA se marchó de aquí para morir..." - responde francamente. VAL se siente ofendida porque KAREN no le contó que LAURA se estaba mriendo, y se queja a todos de que la tratan como si no pudiera soportar nada, pero ella les asegura que no es así: sí que puede. Rechaza los intentos de KAREN por hablar con ella, y luego se confía a GARY, infeliz porque siempre lo arruina todo en su vida. MACK se emborracha y va con GREG a elegir un ataúd, y acaba enfrentándose con él por no mostrar emoción, lo cual ofende a GREG.

Everybody gathers at Greg's, who pretends he is fine. Richard shows up with the boys, and says it is very telling that Laura chose to die alone rather than with them:

"Everyone knows Knots Landing is the world perfect community, a veritable utopia" - says an overwhelmed Richard. "Why are you being so damned critical!?" - Abby asks him. "Laura left here to die!" - he bluntly answers. Val is furious that Karen didn't tell her Laura was dying, and she goes off and screams at everyone that they all treat her like she can't handle anything, but she has news for them - she can. She rejects Karen's attempts to talk to her. She later talks to Gary, who is miserable that he always screws up everything in his life. Mack gets a little drunk and goes with Greg to pick out a casket. Mack confronts Greg on his lack of emotion, and Greg is offended.

11/201: "NOISES EVERYWHERE" (II)

Tras el funeral de LAURA, los asistentes van a casa de GREG. MACK se muestra combativo y sarcástico, y pasa todo el tiempo con MEG. KAREN oye cómo le confía a GARY que nunca consiguió criar a su hija. RICHARD confiesa a KAREN que LAURA le hacía sentir menos hombre, pero que desde entonces ha madurado mucho. JILL se preocupa al ver a GARY cuidando de una frágil VAL, y empieza a beber mucho. Le dice a VAL que ha perdido a su familia y quiere ayudar con los gemelos. Luego escapa con las cenizas de PETER, escondidas en su bolso. Antes le pregunta a PAIGE cómo puede dormir por la noche. Todos ven los vídeos que dejó LAURA y lloran al recordarla. VAL y KAREN hacen las paces. GREG mira el vídeo que le grabó LAURA y llora, preguntándose cómo pudo dejarlo solo, porque la ama. De camino a casa, JILL vierte las cenizas de PETER por un barranco. En una cinta para MEG, LAURA le lee el cuento "Buenas noches, Luna"...

After Laura's funeral, everyone goes to Greg's. Mac is belligerent and snide. He spends all his time with Meg. Karen overhears him tell Gary that he's a father who never got to raise his kids. Richard tells Karen that Laura emasculated him, but he's matured a lot since then. Jill's upset that Gary is taking care of fragile Val. Jill starts to drink heavily and gets drunk. She tells Val that she lost her family and wants to help with the twins. She steals Peter's ashes and puts them in her purse. Jill then drunkenly goes up to Paige and asks her how she can sleep at night. Everyone watches Laura's videos and cry their eyes out. Val and Karen cry and make up. Greg watches his video of Laura by himself, and sobs. He asks how she could leave him all alone, because he loves her. On the way home, Jill scatters Peter's ashes off a mountainside. On the tape, Laura reads "Goodnight Moon" to Meg.

GREG contrata a PAIGE como asesora de inversiones en arte. CHARLES confiesa a ABBY que casarse con JUDITH fue un error con el que ha vivido durante 20 años. Ella le grita que lo odia, pero él le da un beso y terminan en la cama. GARY y VAL también hacen el amor, y ella se siente culpable por JILL, y rechaza a GARY después de ayudarles a decorar el árbol. VAL alega que ha sido una equivocación y no quiere que vuelva a visitarles, y él se marcha airado. GARY confiesa a JILL que no la ama, pero le gustaría. JILL se enfrenta con VAL y le dice que podría dar a ABBY lecciones de manipulación. JILL se va de casa de GARY pero luego vuelve. GREG deja a MEG con los MACKENZIE, asegurando que tiene que ir a N.Y. por trabajo.

Greg hires Paige to buy him investment art. Charles tells Abby that marrying Judith is a mistake he's lived with for 20 years. She screams that she hates him, but he kisses her and they sleep together. Gary and Val make love. She feels guilty about Jill, and rejects Gary after he helps her and the twins decorate the tree. Val tells Gary it was a mistake and she doesn't want him coming over anymore. He storms out. Gary tells Jill that he doesn't love her, but wishes he did. Jill confronts Val and tells her that she could give Abby lessons in manipulation. Jill moves out of Gary's but then returns. Greg drops Meg off at the MacKenzies, saying he has business in New York.

13/203: "ONLY 'TIL FRIDAY" ("SÓLO HASTA EL VIERNES")

PAIGE se sorprende al encontrar a un afligido GREG en casa, pero él le dice que sigue en N.Y. Llama a los MACKENZIE y les miente alegando que ha sufrido un retraso y pasará más tiempo fuera. ABBY y CHARLES pasan un día romántico en un parque de atracciones y luego van a cabalgar, pero entonces llama JUDITH, y CHARLES debe marcharse. Pero él prefiere quedarse y confía a ABBY que no puede dejarla y cometer el mismo error dos veces. JOHNNY ROURKE, un presunto joven irlandés, se dispone a ir a ver a su novia PAIGE. En el camino, roba una tarjeta de crédito y compra un arma. VAL cuenta a GARY que JILL la visitó, y que sólo deberían ser ex esposos. GARY se enfada con JILL, pero esta le dice que aseguró a VAL que es un hombre libre, y no debe ir tras él. Unos nuevos vecinos, FRANK y PAT williams, se instalan en la casa de LAURA con su hija JULIE...

Greg grieves for Laura. Paige is surprised to find Greg at home, but he tells her he's still in New York. He calls the MacKenzies and says he's been delayed and will be gone longer. Abby and Charles have a romantic day at an amusement park and horseback riding, but then Judith calls and Charles says he has to leave. Instead, Charles comes back and tells Abby he can't leave her and make the same mistake twice. Johnny Rourke, an "Irishman", tells a woman on an airplane that he is flying to see his girlfriend Paige Matheson. He steals the woman's credit cards, and later buys a gun in a bar. Val tells Gary about Jill's visit, and that they should just remain ex's. Gary's angry with Jill, but Jill says she told Val he's a free man, so Val must not want him. New neighbors, Frank and Pat Williams, move into Laura's house with their daughter Julie.

JOHNNY intenta chantajear a PAIGE ya que la ayudó a fingir su muerte, pero ella le dice que todos lo saben ya. MACK lo invita a quedarse con ellos, para decepción de PAIGE. Cuando KAREN está fuera, MEG enferma y PAT llega al rescate, informando al hospital de lo que le he ha pasado. MACK le pregunta si es enfermera, pero ella dice que no, sólo que a JULIE le pasó lo mismo. PAIGE explica lo ocurrido a GREG, y él y MACK acompañan a MEG en el hospital. GREG y los MACKENZIE se dan cuenta de que estos han desarrollado un vínculo emocional con la niña. JUDITH asegura a ABBY que su marido nunca la dejará, y CHARLES vuelve con ella. ABBY está furiosa pero, en el último minuto, CHARLES decide pedirle a ABBY que se case con él..

Johnny wants to blackmail Paige for helping her with her fake death, but she tells him everyone already knows. Mack invites Johnny to stay with them, much to Paige's chagrin. While Karen is out of town, Meg gets really sick. Pat comes to the rescue and tells the hospital what's wrong in medical terminology. Mack asks if she's a nurse, but she says no, the same thing happened to Julie. Paige tells Greg about what happened, and he and Mack stay with Meg at the hospital. Greg and the McKenzies realize what a bond Mac and Karen have to Meg. Judith tells Abby he will never leave her, and Charles packs to go home with Judith. Abby is really angry. At the last minute, Charles decides not to go home, and asks Abby to marry him.

JOHNNY entrega varios paquetes para un misterioso hombre de negocios, y una mujer lo ve por accidente. MICHAEL no quiere volver con JODY y, cuando ve a una joven saltar por un acantilado a una muerte segura, cree que es ella, aunque se equivoca. En la inauguración de una galería, GREG le pide a PAIGE que le presente a una mujer que le parece atractiva, y ella se pone celosa y se emborracha. Luego va a ver a JOHNNY y duerme con él. PAT teme que la paranoia de FRANK llamará la atención sobre ellos. KAREN recibe una citación para declarar en el caso por la custodia de los gemelos. Intenta reconciliar a VAL y GARY, pero su amiga le pide que mienta y diga que los niños no son hijos de GARY, lo cual sume a KAREN en un dilema...

Johnny delivers packages for the shady businessman, and a woman accidentally sees them. Michael won't take Jody back, and when he sees a woman jump off a cliff to her death at the beach, he thinks it's Jody, but it's not. At a gallery opening, Greg asks Paige to introduce him to a woman who catches his eye. Paige is jealous and gets drunk. She goes to see Johnny and they sleep together. Pat is worried that Frank´s paranoia is what will call attention to them. Karen is called to give a deposition in the twins' custody case. She tries to get Val and Gary to work it out. Val asks Karen to lie and say the twins aren't Gary's, and Karen doesn't know what to do.

PAIGE sigue celosa del interés que GREG muestra por otras mujeres. Los MACKENZIE sospechan de los WILLIAMS y especulan que quizá FRANK y PAT no tienen la custodia de JULIE. Luego ambos declaran la verdad y convencen a VAL para hacer lo mismo en el juicio, y de que GARY no quiere la custodia, sino los derechos de visita. CHARLES sugiere a ABBY que expanda el club marítimo de L.P., y que le prestará el dinero, sin decirle que es la tapadera de los inversores reales. CHARLES le muestra los planos pero ella ve que se realizaron antes de que él reapareciera en su vida. ABBY decide contratar a un detective para investigarlo y, cuando el divorcio de CHARLES es legal, ABBY insiste en casarse con él lo antes posible.

Paige continues to be jealous of Greg's interest in other women. The MacKenzies are suspicious of the Williams' and speculate that Frank and Pat don't have custody of Julie. Karen and Mack tell the truth in their depositions, and convince Val to tell the truth, that Gary wants visitation, not custody. Charles suggests to Abby she expands the marina at Lotus Point. He loans her the money, not telling her he is the front for investors. Charles gives her plans he had drawn up, but Abby finds they were made before he came back into her life. She hires a detective to investigate him. Charles's divorce is final, so Abby wants to get married ASAP.

PAIGE asegura a JOHNNY que sólo le interesa acostarse con él, y no salir juntos. ABBY presta a L.P. los 2 millones para construir el club marítimo. OLIVIA está furiosa porque ABBY anuló la boda y la reprende por robar maridos y no conservar a sus hombres o llevar una vida normal. GREG construye una casa en miniatura para MEG, pero se da cuenta de lo duro que será educarla. Preocupado, vuelve a llevarla con los MACKENZIE y les pide que actúen como sus padres. Desea que le hablen de LAURA, pero él se mantendrá fuera de su vida. Cuando ve lo afectados que están sin MEG, VAL cambia de opinión y firma una declaración confirmando que GARY es el padre de los gemelos. Le dice que sabe que los quiere, y le gustaría que los criara si algo le pasara a ella. El responde que es una buena madre, destruye el papel y la abraza...

Paige tells Johnny that he's just for sex, and she won't go out with him. Abby loans Lotus Point the $2 million to build the marina. Olivia's really upset that Abby called off the wedding, and yells at her for stealing husbands and not keeping a man or giving her a normal life. The MacKenzies are very upset and miss Meg terribly when Greg brings her home. Greg builds a playhouse for Meg, but realizes how tough it will be to raise her. Upset, he brings Meg back to the MacKenzies and asks them to be Meg's parents. He wants them to tell Meg about Laura, but says he will stay out of their life. Seeing how upset Mack and Karen are without Meg, Val has a change of heart. She signs the paper saying Gary is the twins' father. She gives it to him and says she knows he loves them, and would want him to raise them if anything ever happened to her. He says she's a good mother and rips the paper up. They hug.

HAROLD DYER, un matón de tres al cuarto, le pide una cita a OLIVIA. Su tío MANNY le dice que es hija de ABBY. OLIVIA invita a HAROLD y MANNY a casa para que conozcan a su madre. El segundo le explica que alquila yates y ABBY le presenta a KAREN, esperando que lo contrate para L.P. KAREN sospecha que PAIGE está enamorada de GREG. GARY se siente cansado de L.P. y decide convertirse en un socio silencioso. MACK y JILL acusan a una anciana de falsificación. JILL prepara una cena romántica a GARY, pero él viene a casa con VAL y los gemelos. Preocupada, empieza a beber...

Harold Dyer, who breaks arms for a living, takes Olivia out for a date. His uncle Manny tells him that Olivia is Abby's daughter. Olivia invites Harold and Manny to meet Abby. Manny tells Abby he rents yachts, and Abby introduces him to Karen, hoping to get his business for Lotus Point. Karen suspects Paige has a crush on Greg. Gary's tired of Lotus Point and decides to become a silent partner. Mac and Jill prosecute a little old woman for forgery. Jill dresses up in lingerie and cooks a romantic dinner, only to have Gary come home with Val and the twins. Gary thinks it's hilarious. Later Jill's upset when she comes home to find a note from Gary that he's with the twins. Upset, she begins to drink.

VAL prepara emocionada el regreso de BEN. PAIGE confiesa a GREG que le gusta, y él cree que es una broma. Durante una reunión, MANNY se queda deslumbrado por KAREN y flirtea con ella. ABBY le aconseja que lo use para mejorar su negocio con él. MACK no se siente celoso hasta que lo ve en persona. HAROLD y OLIVIA se declaran su mutuo amor, pero él le dice que no pueden dormir juntos hasta que se casen, y él le propone matrimonio. ABBY se enfurece y advierte a MANNY que anulará el negocio si no detiene a HAROLD. Luego llama a GARY para que la ayude con OLIVIA, y eso enfada a una borracha JILL. PAIGE accede a ir a MÉJICO con JOHNNY, y HAROLD y OLIVIA los acompañan para poder casarse allí. JILL convence a la falsificadora para que le vuelva a escribir otra carta firmada por BEN...

Val is excited and prepares for Ben's return. Paige tells Greg she likes him and he says she must be joking. During a meeting, Manny is taken with Karen and flirts with her. Abby tells Karen to use this to get a better deal from Manny. Mac isn't jealous until he sees Manny. Harold and Olivia declare their love, but he says they can't sleep together until they're married, and he proposes. Abby is furious, and tells Manny she'll back out of the deal if he doesn't stop Harold. Abby calls Gary to help with Olivia, and a drunken Jill is furious. Paige agrees to go to Mexico with Johnny, and Harold and Olivia decide to go with so they can elope. Jill works out a deal for the little old lady forger, and has the woman write another letter to Val from "Ben".

25/215: "WITH A HEAVY HEART" ("CON EL CORAZÓN OPRIMIDO")

GARY encuentra a MANNY descargando un yate en mitad de la noche, y empieza a sospechar. MACK pide a FRANK que lo investigue. JILL pide disculpas a GARY y él decide darle otra oportunidad. Ella edita una vieja cinta de noticias de BEN, y luego le deja un mensaje a VAL en su contestador: "Hola, soy BEN. Dios, cómo os echo de menos a ti y a los niños. Espero que puedas oírme, esta línea telefónica es..." y entonces JILL termina la conversación. VAL se lleva una gran alegría cuando la oye. OLIVIA cuenta a KAREN que ABBY ha provocado su ruptura con HAROLD, y luego KAREN le dice a ABBY que lo sabe. OLIVIA está muy controlada y eso preocupa a OLIVIA, que empieza a regalar sus cosas, y entrega a MANNY una carta para HAROLD donde le dice que le ama y que pensará en él al final. MANNY se la muestra a ABBY, que teme que la chica vaya a suicidarse...

Gary sees Manny unloading a yacht in the middle of the night, and thinks it's suspicious. He tells Mac who asks Frank to investigate. Jill apologizes to Gary, and he says he'll give her another chance. Jill edits an old news tape of Ben's, and then leaves a message on Val's answering machine that says "Hi, it's Ben. God I've missed you and the kids. I want to, I hope you can hear me, this phone system is..." then Jill cuts it off. When she hears it, Val's elated. Olivia tells Karen about Abby breaking her and Harold up. Karen tells Abby she knows. Olivia is too controlled, which worries Abby. Olivia starts giving away her posessions, and gives Manny a letter for Harold that says how much she loves him, and she'll think of him at the end. Manny shows Abby, who thinks Olivia will commit suicide.

26/216: "JUST DESSERTS" ("LOS POSTRES")

JOHNNY recibe orden de MANNY para que la excavación arqueológica de MÉJICO no detenga la construcción de la autopista, justo lo contrario que quiere PAIGE, que entierra una de las estatuas precolombinas de GREG para que la encuentren los estudiantes. KAREN se enfurece porque MACK investiga a MANNY y lo achaca a sus celos. FRANK informa a MACK de que los yates son una tapadera para un negocio de tráfico de cocaína desde MÉJICO, pero no consiguen pruebas suficientes para presentarlas a la ley. JILL roba la llave de la casa de VAL, y sustituye la cinta con otra virgen. OLIVIA aparece inconsciente en casa de HAROLD víctima de una sobredosis de pastillas. ABBY está muy alterada y espera en el hospital con KAREN y GARY. Cuando la joven despierta, echa gritando a su madre de la habitación. El doctor aconseja a ABBY que no visite a su hija por el momento...

In Mexico, Johnny has orders from Manny to make sure the archaeological dig doesn't stop highway construction. Paige wants the highway stopped to find art. Hoping to stop it, she buries one of Greg's pre-Colombian statues for the students to dig up. Karen's furious that Mack is checking out Manny, and thinks it's out of jealousy. Frank tells Mack that the yachts are a front for bringing cocaine in from Mexico, but they don't have enough proof to hold up in court. Jill steals the key to Val's house and replaces the tape with a blank one. Olivia is found passed out at Harold's after overdosing on pills. Abby's very upset and waits at the hospital with Karen and Gary. Olivia wakes up and screams for Abby to get out. The doctor tells Abby that it's better if she doesn't visit Olivia.

PAIGE invita a MICHAEL a ir a MÉJICO. MANNY ordena a JOHNNY que envíe a PAIGE a casa porque está dando de lugar a retrasos, pero ella se niega. Cuando encuentran la estatua, consideran que es falsa y PAIGE decide acudir a un periodista. MANNY encarga a sus secuaces que maten a todos los que trabajan en la excavación, y que hagan ver que los mejicanos han sido los responsables. La policía informa de que MANNY trabaja para el gobierno en operaciones encubiertas. OLIVIA vuelve a casa pero no habla a su madre. JILL llama a VAL y le pone otra cinta de BEN, y luego le cuelga. VAL intenta que GARY la oiga, pero la cinta está en blanco, y JILL insinúa que VAL seguramente está enloqueciendo y podría intentar suicidarse. Accidentalmente, JILL se entera de que VAL está tan deprimida que el médico le ha recetado somníferos, aunque ella no los quiere. JILL le roba la receta y los recoge...

Paige invites Michael to Mexico. Manny instructs Johnny to send Paige home because she's causing delays, but she won't leave. The piece of art is found and declared a fake. Angry, Paige decides to go to a reporter. Manny tells his men to kill everyone at the site, and to make it look like it was done by Mexicans. The police say that Manny works for the government in covert operations. Olivia goes home but refuses to speak to Abby. Jill calls Val and plays another tape of Ben and hangs up. Val plays "Ben's" tape to Gary, but it's blank. Jill convinces Gary that Val's probably going crazy and might be suicidal. Dropping off the twins, Jill overhears Val tell neighbors that she is so wound up about Ben that her doctor prescribed sleeping pills, but she won't get them. Jill steals the prescription and gets it filled.

MACK no cree que MANNY trabaje para el gobierno y descubre que trafica con armas. GARY y ABBY deciden tramar un plan juntos. La excavación mejicana termina siendo cerrada, y el periodista con quien habla PAIGE muere al explotar su coche. PAT invita a VAL a ver una película en casa y le dice que mandará a JULIE para que cuide a los gemelos. JILL le dice a GARY que va a una conferencia en SAN FRANCISCO, y, disfrazada, alquila otro coche y esconde en él un arma. En la conferencia, seduce a un tal DAVID, y desliza una pastilla en su bebida. Cuando lo lleva a su habitación, él cae en la cama inconsciente. Ella lo desviste y deshace la cama, para llamar luego a GARY y decirle que retendrán sus llamadas hasta la mañana siguiente. JILL vuelva a L.A. y pone otro disfraz. Conduce hasta casa de VAL con el coche alquilado, y se introduce sigilosamente en ella...

Mack doesn't believe Manny works for the government and finds out he is a gun runner. Gary and Abby decide to come up with a plan. In Mexico, strange things happen on the site so the director closes it down. Paige talks to the reporter, and as the reporter drives away, her car blows up. Pat invites Val to watch videos and says she'll send Julie over to babysit after dinner. Jill tells Gary she is going to a conference in San Francisco. Wearing a disguise, she buys a junket car and hides a gun in it. On the plane and at the conference, Jill introduces herself to lots of people. She seduces a man named David, and slips a pill into his drink. She takes him to her room where he passes out. Jill undresses him and messes up the bed. She calls Gary, then tells the hotel operator to hold her calls until the next morning. Jill flies back to Los Angeles and dons another disguise. She drives to Val's in the junket car, and lets herself into the house.

29/219: "THE PERFECT CRIME" ("EL CRIMEN PERFECTO")

PAIGE y MICHAEL averiguan que JOHNNY trabaja para MANNY y que su amigo CHAVAS es un agente antidrogas. Después suben a un autocar, y los federales les hacen parar y toman como rehenes a PAIGE, MICHAEL y CHAVAS. ABBY y GARY llenan el puerto de barcos para que MANNY no pueda atracar con el suyo, pero él llama a KAREN y le ordena que haga algo al respecto si quiere volver a ver a PAIGE y MICHAEL. JILL sorprende a VAL y le dice que las cartas y llamadas de BEN eran una falsificación, y que también ha falsificado una nota suicida para VAL donde ella revela que sabe que BEN ha muerto.

JULIE y FRANK van a ver a VAL, y esta les dice nerviosa que debe quedarse en casa porque BETSY está enferma. FRANK comenta a PAT que su vecina ha actuado de forma extraña, como si alguien la amenazara con una pistola. JILL obliga a VAL a tragarse los somníferos con la amenaza de que, si no lo hace, disparará contra ella, y será mejor que los gemelos la encuentren dormida que desangrada. Luego le confiesa que está harta de que que todo el mundo la llame "pobre VAL" y que, mientras esté viva, GARY siempre correrá a su auxilio. DAVID despierta y JILL sale de la ducha diciendo que ha pasado una gran noche con él. En casa, VAL está en el suelo, inconsciente, con el teléfono en las manos...

Paige and Michael find out that Johnny is working for Manny, and their friend Chavas is a DEA agent. They get on a bus. The Federales stop the bus and take Paige, Michael and Chavas. Abby and Gary fill all the slips in the marina so that Manny can't dock his boat. Manny calls Karen and says she'd better do something about it if she wants Paige and Michael to return safely from Mexico. Jill, in disguise, surprises Val. She says the letters and calls from Ben were a hoax, and she had the forger write a suicide note for Val that says Val found out Ben is dead.

Julie and Frank come to the door, and Val nervously says she has to stay home because Betsy's sick. Frank remarks to Pat that Val acted strangely, like she was being held at gunpoint. Jill forces Val to take sleeping pills saying if she doesn't, she'll shoot Val, and it's better if the twins find her asleep rather than with her brains splattered all over the room. Jill says she's sick of everyone calling her "Poor Val" and as long as she's alive, Gary will always run to take care of her. David wakes up and Jill comes out of the shower saying she had a great night with him. Back home, Val's passed out on the floor with the phone off the hook in her hands...
