26/126: "FOUR, NO TRUMP" ("CUATRO, NO TRIUNFO")

GARY comunica a GREG que participará en E.V., y luego miente a MACK diciéndole que el neogcio es legal. El Dr. ACKERMAN evita hablar con KAREN y MACK le ofrece a esta su ayuda para conseguir pruebas. VAL cancela las citas con BEN, y este se siente frustrado. VAL le dice a KAREN que intenta actuar de un modo normal, pero siente que se está volviendo loca porque está segura de que sus hijos están vivos. KAREN emplea a ERIC en LOTUS POINT como Ayudante de Dirección General. ABBY informa a GREG sobre EASTON y los bebés, y le dice que necesita las páginas que faltan en la agenda. Luego él va a casa de los FISHER y les espía desde su coche. RUTH lanza indirectas a LAURA mencionando que pasa mucho tiempo con ABBY, y confía a su hijo que prefiere para él a ABBY.

Gary tells Greg he will be part of Empire Valley, and then lies to Mac, telling him it's a legitimate business. Dr. Ackerman won't talk to Karen, so Mac tells her he'll help her to get evidence. Val sneaks out of Ben's, and then cancels dates with him. Ben's frustrated, and Val tells Karen she's trying to act normal, but feels like she's going crazy because she knows the babies are alive. Karen hires Eric to be the Assistant General Manager at Lotus Point. Abby tells Greg about Scott Easton and the babies, and tells Greg she needs the missing notebook pages. He gives her some pages, but they don't have the information on them. Greg goes to the Fishers and watches them from his car. Ruth makes snide comments to Laura about Greg spending so much time with Abby, and tells Greg that she likes Abby much better.

27/127: "A PRICE TO PAY" ("EL PRECIO QUE HAY QUE PAGAR")

ABBY presiona a GREG para que entregue todas las páginas de la agenda, pero él quiere que GARY deje E.V. a cambio de ellas. Como no puede, le pide en su lugar la licencia de emisión y la cadena de E.V. JILL BENNETT se entrevista con MACK porque el Gobernador quiere proponerle para el escaño de GREG en el Senado. MACK sospecha que GREG está detrás de todo. Cuando regresan de su luna de miel, CATHY se sorprende al saber que JOSHUA prefiere vivir en casa de VAL en vez de tener la suya propia. BEN le pide a VAL que se case con él, pero ella no puede aceptar mientras siga oyendo a los gemelos llorar de noche. Cree que VAL está perdiendo el juicio pero los MACKENZIE le informan de sus hallazgos.

Abby calls Greg for the notebook pages, but he says he'll only give them to her if she gets Gary out of Empire Valley. She can't, so then Greg says he'll exchange them for her broadcasting license and Empire Valley TV station. Jill Bennett goes to Mack's office and says the Governor would like to appoint him to Greg's vacant Senate seat. Mac thinks Greg is behind it. Home from their honeymoon, Cathy's alarmed that Joshua wants to live at Val's and she wants to get their own place. Ben proposes to Val, but she tells him she can feel her babies cry at night, and can't marry him with that going on. Ben thinks that Val is losing it, so Mac and Karen tell him about their investigation.

28/128: "ONE DAY IN A ROW" ("UN DÍA TRAS OTRO")

RUTH asegura a ABBY que obtendrá las páginas de la agenda para que pueda conservar la emisora. Le confía que para ella es como la hija que nunca tuvo. Durante una cena, RUTH ataca constantemente a LAURA, así que esta la manda a paseo. Después, LAURA quiere que GREG le diga si la quiere, pero él dice muchas cosas menos eso. Además, GREG hace saber a su madre que ya es hora de que vuelva a AFRICA. BEN averigua por uno de sus reporteros que ACKERMAN tiene deudas de juego, y por eso accedió a robar los bebés. BEN y KAREN van a una agencia de adopción ilegal haciéndose pasar por una pareja, y afirman que se la ha recomendado ACKERMAN. Cuando se marchan, el abogado llama a este y le informa de la visita de KAREN, que es como el doctor la había descrito.

Ruth tells Abby that she will get her the notebook pages, and to keep her TV station. She tells Abby that she is like the daughter she never had. At dinner, Ruth constantly puts Laura down, so Laura tells her off. Later, Laura wants Greg to tell her he loves her, but Greg says everything except that. Greg tells Ruth it's time for her to go back to Africa. Ben has a reporter check out Ackerman. He finds that Ackerman has gambling debts, and they think that was his motive for agreeing to steal the babies. The reporter gives Ben a list of unethical adoption agencies. Ben and Karen go to one, posing as a couple who wants to adopt, and say they were recommended by Ackerman. When they leave, the lawyer calls Ackerman and tells him Karen came to see him, and she was just as Ackerman described her.

TH recuerda a ABBY que sólo le dará la agenda si ella la ayuda a librarse de LAURA. Esta va casa una mañana, y se encuentra a ABBY llevando su bata, así que LAURA se marcha. ABBY y RUTH se felicitan mutuamente. GREG le dice a COBLENTZ que quiere a GARY fuera de E.V. Este se niega a seguir espiando. KAREN, MACK y BEN trabajan en el caso hasta el punto de que VAL se siente desatendida. JOSHUA le dice a su hermanastras que asusta a sus amigos por hacerles sentir incómodos. BEN regala un ramo de flores a VAL y ella le pide disculpas, mencionándole su charla con JOSH. BEN aparece furioso en la habitación de este, le amenaza y le da un puñetazo. La enfermera WILSON por fin se decide a hablar y le dice a MACK que ACKERMAN tenía algo en su contra y la chantajeó para hacer lo que quería. Luego ellos acuden al torneo de bridge donde juega ACKERMAN y este, al verlos, se escapa y se mete en su coche. KAREN bloquea el paso con su coche. MACK le dice que todo ha terminado y entonces ACKERMAN saca una pistola de la guantera y se suicida.

Ruth tells Abby that she'll only give her the notebook papers if Abby will help her get rid of Laura. Laura goes to Greg's one morning, and Abby is there in her robe, so Laura leaves. Abby and Ruth congratulate themselves. Greg tells Coblentz he wants Gary out of Empire Valley. Coblentz also tries to placate Gary, who says he refuses to spy anymore. Karen, Mac and Ben are working on the case so much that Val feels neglected. Joshua tells her that she scares her friends away because she makes them feel uncomfortable. Ben comes over with flowers for Val, and she apologizes to him and tells him about her conversation with Joshua. Ben storms up to Josh's room, tells him off and punches him. Nurse Wilson finally comes forward and tells Mac that Ackerman had something on her and blackmailed her into doing it. Mac, Karen and Wilson go to the bridge tournament where Ackerman is. Ackerman runs out and gets into his car. Karen hits him with her truck. Mac tells Ackerman that it's over. Ackerman pulls a gun out of his glove compartment and shoots himself in the head.

30/130: "THE LONG AND WINDING ROAD" ("EL LARGO Y TORTUOSO CAMINO")

GREG sigue intentando hablar con LAURA, pero ella le cuelga el teléfono. La sigue y le explica que todo fue un montaje de RUTH, y por eso la echó. GREG le pide que se case con él, pero ella dice ya estar casada. La policía interroga a KAREN sobre ACKERMAN, mientras MACK localiza en su oficina el archivo de VAL. Hace saltar la alarma y es detenido. Cuando lo liberan, encuentran una lista en el archivo que tiene los nombres de las parejas que adoptaron bebés ilegalmente, pero no hay direcciones. Uno de los nombres, HARRY FISHER, le llama la atención. Al día siguiente, KAREN le dice a GARY que los gemelos están vivos. MACK recuerda que BEN y él estuvieron en casa de los FISHER, y que tenían gemelos. MACK llama a KAREN y la cita allí. GARY la acompaña.

HARRY entra rápidamente en su casa y ordena a su mujer que haga las maletas para marcharse de vacaciones. SHEILA no quiere porque debe recoger una receta para tratar la infección de oído de los gemelos. Frustrado, él coge a uno de los niños y va a buscarla mientras ella lo recoge todo. ABBY reciba las páginas de la agenda de un mensajero. Va a buscar a VAL y le dice que ha recibido una misteriosa llamada que en realidad era para VAL. Afirma que le informaron que los bebés estaban vivos y dónde podía encontrarlos. MACK, KAREN, BEN y GARY llegan a casa de los FISHER. Los dos primeros le dicen a SHEILA que su adopción fue ilegal y le fueron arrebatados a su madre, pero ella se niega a creerlo. ABBY llega entonces con VAL y esta se sorprende al verlos a todos allí. Cuando oye llorar a uno de los bebés, se dirige hacia la casa, alarmando a SHEILA. HARRY se acerca con su coche y ve a la gente que hay delante de su casa. Entonces, SHEILA le grita: "HARRY, quieren quitarnos a los niños!" HARRY aprieta el acelerador...

Greg keeps trying to call Laura, who hangs up on him. He follows her and explains that it was a stunt Ruth set up, so he kicked her out. Greg asks Laura to marry him, but she says she's already married. The police question Karen about Ackerman, while Mac goes to his office and finds Val's file. He sets the alarm off and is arrested. After Mac is out, they find a list in the file that has the name couples who illegally adopted babies, but there are no addresses on the list. One name on the list - Harry Fisher - rings a bell. The next day at work Karen tells Gary the babies are alive. Mac remembers that he and Ben were at the Fisher's house, and they had twins. Mac calls Karen and tells her to meet him there. Gary goes with her.

Harry Fisher rushes home and tells his wife Sheila to pack, that they have to leave on a vacation now. Sheila says she won't leave because she hasn't picked up the prescription for the twins' ear infections. Frustrated, Harry takes one of the twins and goes to pick it up while she packs. Abby receives the notebook pages via messenger. She picks up Val and tells her that she received a mysterious phone call meant for Val. She said they told her that the babies were alive and where to find them. Mac, Karen, Ben and Gary arrive at the Fishers'. Karen and Mac tell Sheila that the babies were adopted illegally and taken from their mother. Sheila says that's not true. Abby drives up with Val, and Val is surprised to see everybody there. Val hears the baby cry and starts to walk up to the door. Sheila is very distraught. Harry drives up and sees all the people outside of his house. Sheila yells at him, "Harry, they want to take the babies!" Harry speeds off.
