17 - the furious and the fast

My post on Ultimate Dallas Forum from March 6, 2012 (episode aired on March 4, 2013):

I didn´t like the race car scenes, but I did like the rest. And the JR part was really well edited. It bugs me what they have in store for Gary and Sue Ellen though...The more I see the Drew boy, the more he looks to me like a Mexican Cliff Barnes in every sense...I found that scene between JR3 and Gary totally believable. Remember how many times JR told little JR3 that Gary wasn´t a "true Ewing" and a coward and that´s how he grew up to consider him just that. I´m sure that when Val appears within 2 weeks he will say: "look who´s back: the village´s idiot!" Poor, poor Val.

I also like the Rylands more now (maybe they will axe them?) but especially the way the scenes between Ann and Emma are written, because those are purely character-driven, which is what we have been asking for over one year. I loved Emma´s fear looks (the actress is quite good in the role), Bobby´s comment about the way Emma and Ann pull their hair away (Pam did that too!!!), their common love for horses, and the fact that the Ryland house (which we haven´t seen outside, btw) is getting creepier and creepier every day, very claustrophobic.

I almost expected Judith Crawford to scream "I said no wire hangers!!!" Anyway, I can´t help but wondering if there is no other thing for Emma in the future than what the synopses gave away...And also, is Emma going to sleep in Lucy´s little bedroom, or it has been remodelled into an Ikea Solarium...? (What would have been great to watch is an affair between Lucy and the Ramos boy...)

No me gustaron las escenas de carreras pero sí lo demás. Y la secuencia de JR fue editada muy bien. Me escama, sin embargo, lo que puedan tener preparado para Gary y Sue Ellen...Cuanto más veo a Drew, más me parece una versión mejicana de Cliff Barnes en todos los sentidos...La escena entre John Ross y Gary me pareció completamente creíble. Recordad cuántas veces JR le contó a su hijo que Gary no era un Ewing "de verdad" y sí un cobarde, por lo que debió de crecer considerándole precisamente eso. Seguro que, cuando aparezca Val dentro de 2 semanas, dirá: "mira quién ha vuelto: la tonta del pueblo"... Pobre, pobre Val.

También me gustaron más los Ryland ahora (¿quizá los van a eliminar?) pero, sobre todo, cómo estaban escritas las escenas entre Ann y Emma, porque están centradas en los personajes, que es lo que necesitaban desde hace más de un año. Me encantaron las miradas de miedo de Emma (cuya intérprete es bastante buena), el comentario de Bobby sobre cómo Emma y Ann se mesan el cabello (también Pam lo hacía...), su pasión común por los caballos y el hecho de la mansión de los Ryland (que no hemos visto por fuera, por cierto) cada vez es más siniestra y claustrofóbica.

Casi esperaba que Judith Crawford se pusiera a gritar "¡Dije que no quería perchas de alambre!"...De todas formas, no puedo evitar sino preguntarme si no hay más para Emma en el futuro que lo que las sinopsis han revelado...Y también si Emma va a dormir en el pequeño dormitorio de Lucy o éste ha sido remodelado como un solárium estilo Ikea... (Habría sido genial ver un idilio entre Lucy y el chico de los Ramos...)
