THE TNT DALLAS PROJECT

A "Dallas" Pilot is being produced by US network TNT, starring our dear Larry Hagman as JR Ewing, Patrick Duffy as Bobby Ewing and Linda Gray as Sue Ellen. The sequel is focused on the life of the next Ewing generation: John Ross (J.R. and Sue Ellen´s son) and Christopher (Kristin Shepard´s son, adopted by Bobby and Pamela).

The Pilot script has been written by "Cane" writer Cynthia Cidre and the director will be Michael M. Robin, executive producer and director of "The Closer", also on TNT. John Ross Ewing will be played by actor Josh Henderson who also starred in "Desperate Housewives" as Edie Britt´s nephew and the reboot of "90210" as Sean Cavanaugh.

Born in Dallas, Texas (where else?) in October 25, 1981, his filmography includes 23 titles for TV and big-screen. He became locally famous thanks to reality show Popstars, an American Idol-like program,

and was chosen as one of the six winners. Curiously, he has one green eye and one blue eye.

The shooting of the Dallas project will begin soon within February, very probably not in Dallas, but in Louisiana, for tax benefits, decision that made Larry Hagman speak against. It is not confirmed yet if the iconic Southfork ranch will be eventually included in the final location choices.

The new story features the rivalry between John Ross and Christopher, this time, and it has been leaked that a wedding will take place, that Southfork and the family company are endangered, that John Ross will be in love triangle with Chris and the cook´s daughter named Elena (Jordana Brewster, from the "Fast and Furious" movies) and other minor details, such as the presence of former characters at the wedding, e.g. Lucy, Ray, Donna and Jenna.

The first script was re-tooled in order to improve the quality after Gray and Duffy had signed in, and the interracial conflict was introduced then. As well as a new concept of the family company, now including other alternative energies. Also, Hagman´s character is rumored to have been in catatonic state for years and committed into a sanitarium.

The whole community of Dallas fans all around the world is looking forward to watching the new series, although some of them are torn between the golden memories of the classic show and the possibility of repeating the fiasco of the two previous sequels shot in 1996 and 1998.

La cadena norteamericana TNT produce en estos momentos un episodio-piloto de "Dallas" con nuestros queridos Larry Hagman como J.R. Ewing, Patrick Duffy como Bobby Ewing y Linda Gray como Sue Ellen. Esta secuela se centra en la vida de la siguiente generación Ewing: John Ross (el hijo de J.R. y Sue Ellen) y Christopher (hijo de Kristin Shepard y adoptado por Bobby y Pamela).

El guión de este Piloto ha sido escrito por la guionista de la serie "La plantación", Cynthia Cidre, y el director será Michael M. Robin, productor ejecutivo y director de "The Closer", otra serie de TNT. A John Ross Ewing lo interpretará el actor Josh Henderson, que apareció en "Mujeres Desesperadas" como sobrino de Edie Britt y en la secuela de "Sensación de vivir" como Sean Cavanaugh.

Nacido en Dallas, Tejas (¿dónde, si no?) el 25 de octubre de 1981, su filmografía incluye 23 títulos para la TV y el cine. Saltó a la fama a nivel local gracias al "reality show" Popstars, un programa estilo "Operación Triunfo", donde resultó elegido como uno de los seis ganadores. Como dato curioso, señalar que tiene un ojo de color verde y otro azul.

El rodaje del proyecto de Dallas comenzará pronto dentro de este mes de febrero, seguramente no en Dallas, sino en Louisiana, por motivos de deducción de impuestos, lo cual provocó que Larry Hagman se declarase en contra. Aún no se ha confirmado si el icónico rancho Southfork se incluirá al final en las localizaciones para el rodaje.

La nueva historia presenta esta vez la rivalidad entre John Ross y Christopher, y se ha filtrado que tendrá lugar una boda, que Southfork y la empresa familiar estarán en peligro, que John Ross formará parte de un triángulo amoroso con Chris y la hija de la cocinera Elena (Jordana Brewster, protagonista de las películas de Fast and Furious) y otros pequeños detalles, como la presencia de antiguos personajes en la boda, por ejemplo Lucy, Ray, Donna y Jenna.

El primer guión fue reescrito para mejorar su calidad una vez hubieron firmado Gray y Duffy, y entonces se introdujo el conflicto interracial. Lo mismo sucedió con un nuevo concepto de la empresa de la familia que ahora incluye otras energías alternativas. Además, se ha rumoreado que el personaje de Hagman se encuentra en estado catatónico desde hace años y está ingresado en un sanatorio.

La comunidad de fans de Dallas de todo el mundo está esperando con ansiedad la nueva serie, aunque hay quien se siente dividido entre los recuerdos idealizados de la serie clásica y la posibilidad de que se repita el fiasco de las dos secuelas anteriores, rodadas en 1996 y 1998.
