York RI C retained their place in the top flight of the SLT FM Solutions Ltd York and District Table Tennis League after a convincing 7-2 playoff triumph against second division runners up, Wetherby Sports Association. Despite valiant resistance from Dave Jackson and Joe Wright, Railway’s Rich Crowther and Filip Wojtkowiak were too good on the night and emerged undefeated. Jeff Cohen also picked up a win against Ian Hilton.
There was a dramatic finale to the season in the second division as Ryedale@RI went head to head with York RI F to determine which team would be relegated. In a tense match that first swung one way, and then the other it was York RI F who finally prevailed 6-4 with Lewis McCarthy clinching the key game. York RI F were grateful to Adam Ridley who concluded a superb second half of the season with three wins. Mick Keyon starred as champions Clarence C cruised to an 8-2 victory over Bootham D with Steve Ayres picking up both points for Bootham. Steve Miner and Richard Ingleby contributed trebles as Bootham B completed a solid season by defeating BT A 8-2. Rich McCarthy led York RI to a 7-3 victory at Strensall and a maximum from Rich Harrison as key as Bootham C edged a close encounter with University B 6-4.
York RI G clinched promotion from division three, but they struggled to a 5-5 draw against a depleted Bootham E team. Russ Barton ended a fine season with a maximum haul as Bootham F thrashed Clarence D 8-2. In a crunch relegation match York RI H secured the points required to retain their third division status but unbeaten efforts from both Chris Maude and Naz Hosseinian earned Wigginton & Haxby a superb 7-3 victory. The villagers now compete in a playoff against division four runners up, Clarence F. Champions Clarence C could only draw 5-5 against University B with Frank Feng too strong and Pete Corner was unbeaten as Bootham E defeated Shepherds B 6-4. Burnholme B ended the season with a surprise 6-4 victory over their A team but results elsewhere mean that Burnholme finished bottom and are relegated to division four.

In the SLT FM Solutions Ltd York and District Table Tennis League, Clarence B booked their return to the top tier, clinching the division 2 championship with a 10-0 thumping of BT B. Wetherby are runners-up and ended their league season in fine style with a 9-1 demolition of Ryedale@RI. Wetherby now face a playoff for promotion with York RI C. Strensall are safe from relegation after securing a 5-5 draw in a tense encounter with York RI F. Adam Ridley was man of the match with a classy unbeaten performance. Next week’s crunch fixture between Ryedale@RI and York RI F will determine the second relegated team from the division. A depleted Bootham B battled hard to salvage a draw against University A whilst Rich McCarthy starred for York RI E in a 6-4 victory over Bootham C. A maximum haul from Steve Ayres was decisive as Bootham D edged Shepherds A 6-4.
Division one fixtures are now complete and James Rule and Martin Lowe both ended the season unbeaten as they steered Coneysthorpe A to a 7-3 victory over York RI C. York RI A thrashed their D team 9-1 and Jake McCarthy made the difference as York RI B defeated Coneysthorpe B 6-4. A treble from Jon Wooldridge could not prevent Bootham A going down 6-4 to Clarence A.
Division three title winners Clarence C thrashed their D team 9-1 with Bob Young and Rob Farmery on top form, whilst York RI G closed in on the second promotion spot after a treble from Peter Smalley was just enough to see off a defiant Wigginton & Haxby 6-4. Burnholme B slumped to a disastrous defeat against Bootham E and are now favourites for the drop to the bottom tier. Paul Kozyra starred for Shepherds B in their 7-3 triumph over York RI H and student Frank Feng was unbeaten as University B beat BT B by the same margin.
In the fourth division, champions Clarence E ended the season in style as they thrashed York RI J 9-1 although veteran defender Geoff Leafe played well to defeat Bob Fitzsimmons, whilst Clarence F defeated a two man Shepherds C by the same score. Three wins from Ollie Bailey could not prevent Trustmarque suffering a 6-4 reversal against York RI I whilst Paul Lodder and Mike Belton were untroubled as Clarence G beat University C 7-3.

In division one of the SLT FM Solutions Ltd York and District Table Tennis League, champions Coneysthorpe A showed no mercy as they thrashed bottom team York RI D 10-0. Filp Wojtkowiak starred for York RI C as they held York RI B to a 5-5 draw but this result means that the C team will have to play-off against the division two runners up to retain their top flight status. A treble from Aidan Ranftler was the highlight as Clarence A and Coneysthorpe B shared the spoils in a 5-5 draw.
Clarence B edged ever closer to securing the division two crown after they whitewashed Shepherds A although Wetherby kept up the pressure as they saw off a fading Strensall by the same scoreline. It was a good week for Rydeale@RI as they boosted their survival hopes with successive victories against BT A (8-2) and Bootham B (6-4). John Freeman and John Eastwood were unbeaten against BT whilst a treble from John Flintoft made the difference against Bootham. Adam Ridley was on top form but his maximum haul could not prevent York RI F suffering a 7-3 reversal against Bootham C. Despite an unbeaten effort from Ady McLaren, York RI E lost a close encounter against Bootham B 6-4.
In division three, Clarence C are confirmed as champions as closest rivals York RI G slumped to a 7-3 defeat against inform Shepherds B with Mike Surtees too good. York RI H eased relegation concerns as they thrashed rivals Burnholme B 9-1 whilst A depleted Wigginton&Haxby are in a desperate battle to avoid the drop after they went down 8-2 to BT B. Russ Barton steered Bootham F to a fine 6-4 triumph over their E team.
To seal a fine week for Clarence Club, Clarence E secured the division four title with Bob Fitzsimmons leading the way in an 8-2 victory over Trustmarque. Clarence F sealed the playoff slot as they recorded wins against both York RI I and champions Clarence E with Russ Scott unbeaten in both matches.

In division one of the SLT FM Solutions Ltd York and District Table Tennis League, York RI D are confirmed as relegated to the second tier following a 6-4 reversal against York RI C. Filip Wojtkowiak and Richard Crowther did the damage with unbeaten performances. Champions Coneysthorpe A whitewashed Clarence A 10-0 and a treble from Paul Robertson was enough to allow York RI A to edge out Coneysthorpe B 6-4. A maximum haul from Jimmy Mills was decisive as Bootham A defeated York RI B 6-4 with Railway’s Andy Kirk playing superbly to beat Jon Wooldridge.
In the second division, Wetherby’s title hopes were hit as despite a fine treble from Ian Hilton they were held to a 5-5 draw by York RI E. Rich McCarthy picked up a brace for the Railwaymen becoming the first player this season to defeat Joe Wright twice. York RI F are embroiled in a fight to avoid relegation following a 10-0 whitewashing by University A and Steve Ayres made the difference as Bootham D prevailed 6-4 against their C team. Joe Wright was unbeaten as Wetherby defeated Bootham B 7-3 with Steve Milner playing well for the conservatives to pick up two victories. York RI E thrashed BT A 10-0 and Will Beedham put in his best performance of the season with his treble the highlight as Shepherds A beat Ryedale@RI 7-3.
In Division 3, Shepherds B revived their promotion hopes with successive victories against BT B (6-4) and Burnholme A (9-1). Paul Kozyra was unbeaten in both matches. In a tense relegation battle, Burnholme B secured an important 6-4 victory against Wigginton & Haxby whilst Burnholme A showed no mercy as they whitewashed a depleted Clarence D. Peter Smalley was on top form as York RI G confirmed their promotion credentials as they cruised to an 8-2 win over Bootham F.
Division four leaders Clarence E defeated a two man University B 8-2 and Paul Lodder was untroubled as Clarence G recorded a 7-3 victory over Trustmarque. In an entertaining game a treble from Nigel Baker allowed Shepherds C to edge out York RI I with Ben Robinson contributing a brace for the losers.

They whitewashed second placed York RI A 10-0 with James Rule, Martin Lowe and Ashley Hodgson on top form. A treble from Jon Wooldridge was key as Bootham A defeated York RI C 7-3, whilst York RI B beat a depleted Clarence A by the same margin. Charlie Allott and Joel Wright starred as Coneysthorpe B thrashed York RI D 9-1.
In the second division Clarence B remain in pole position after a superb 10-0 triumph over Bootham C whilst Dave Jackson and Joel Wright were unbeaten as Wetherby remain in contention following an 8-2 victory over University A. Ian Williams was on top form as Shepherds E defeated Strensall 7-3 over whilst a treble from Steve Ayres earned Bootham D a 5-5 draw against Bootham B. Three wins from Adam Ridley could not prevent York RI F suffering a 7-3 reversal against York RI E.

Frank Feng was too good as University B eased to an 8-2 win against York RI H and despite a treble from Jim Stevenson BT B went down 6-4 to Burnholme A.
Division four leaders Clarence E consolidated their position as they thumped Shepherds C 10-0. An entertaining game between University C and York RI resulted in a 6-4 victory for the students with Andrew Rouse posting three wins. Clarence B thrashed York RI I 9-1 thanks to Mike Belton and Paul Lodder.

In the SLT FM Solutions Ltd York and District Table Tennis League, Coneysthorpe A edged closer to securing the division one title following a 9-1 demolition of their B team. James Rule and Martin Lowe were again unbeaten for the A team, although Joel Wright played well to defeat Ashley Hodgson. Aidan Ranftler retained his unbeaten record for 2016 but Clarence A had to be content with a 5-5 draw against York RI C. York RI A thrashed York RI B 9-1 thanks to Richard Moss and Paul Robertson while Bootham A showed no mercy as they whitewashed division two bound York RI D.
In the second division Strensall eased relegation concerns with Nigel Reeson and Dave Quinlan leading the way as they thumped Ryedale@RI 9-1. RI F moved above Ryedale, recorded a convincing 8-2 victory over BT A with Adam Ridley on top form. Dave Simpson played well to pick up two wins for BT. Martin Hood and Alfie Potter contributed trebles as Clarence B beat Bootham B 9-1 but in a re-arranged fixture Wetherby blew the title race wide open by defeating Clarence 7-3 with star man Dave Jackson unbeaten. Rachel Greener excelled as Bootham C triumphed 7-3 over Shepherds A and University C defeated Bootham D by the same margin with Ishan Bairoliya too good.
Division 3 leaders Clarence C cruised to a 9-1 victory over Wigginton & Haxby with Rob Farmery and Bob Young recording three wins. A treble from Razvan Ababei could not prevent University B going down 6-4 to promotion rivals York G. Burnholme B moved off the bottom of the table following a shock 8-2 victory over BT B with Adrian Church and Michal Slezak hitting top form. Clarence D defeated York RI H 7-3 but could not overcome Paul Greenwood who ended the night unbeaten. Bootham F posted an excellent 7-3 win over Shepherds B with Russ Barton rising to the occasion whilst a maximum from Pete Corner was the highlight as Bootham E drew 5-5 with Burnholme A.
In division four, second placed Clarence F slumped to their first defeat of the season as Paul Lodder starred for Clarence G in a 7-3 victory. Leaders Clarence E took full advantage defeating York RI I 9-1. A treble from Mark Godliman allowed a depleted Trustmarque to emerge with a battling 6-4 victory against University C.

In division one of SLT FM Solutions Ltd York and District Table Tennis League, Aidan Ranftler remains unbeaten in 2016 as Clarence A secured an 8-2 victory over bottom team York RI D. James Lowe and Martin Lowe retained their 100% records as leaders Coneysthorpe A prevailed 6-4 against York RI B whilst York RI A whitewashed their C team to strengthen their hold on second place. Jim Mills and Jon Wooldridge excelled as Bootham A thrashed an under strength Coneysthorpe B 9-1.
In division 2, a treble from Graham Hatfield was the highlight as leaders Clarence B defeated University C 7-3 although second placed Wetherby cut the deficit to as they whitewashed York RI F 10-0. Strensall needed a maximum from in-form Nigel Reeson to see off a determined BT A whilst a sparkling performance from Steve Ayres could not prevent Bootham D going down 6-4 to York RI E. Ryedale@RI shocked Bootham C and moved out of the relegation zone as John Flintoft inspired them to an excellent 6-4 victory. Gareth Bryning continued his excellent form at Bootham D eased to a 7-3 victory over Shepherds A.
In the third division, leaders Clarence C showed their class as they thrashed a fading Shepherds B 9-1 whilst University B cruised into second place with Yankui Feng and Razvan Ababei on top form as they recorded a 9-1 triumph over Wigginton/Haxby. A determined unbeaten performance from Peter Smalley was decisive as York RI G edged a close encounter with Clarence d 6-4 and Chris McLuskie starred as Burnholme A defeated York RI H 7-3. It required a treble from Pete Corner to allow Bootham E to salvage a 5-5 draw against BT B with veteran defender Bill Carter played superbly to beat Jan Suchecki. Bootham F picked up their first win in 2016 with Russ Barton and Jay Chinnian too powerful as they triumphed 8-2 against Burnholme B.
There were only two fixtures this week in Division four. Clarence F prevailed 6-4 against University C but Andrew Rouse played superbly for the students with an unbeaten performance. York RI I and York RI J fought out a competitive 5-5 draw with braces from Arthur Sorley and Ben Robinson being matched by similar efforts from Adam Webb and veteran Geoff Leafe.

Rich Crowther played well for York RI to defeat Ashley Hodgson. A fine treble from inform Aidan Ranftler could not prevent Clarence A suffering a 6-4 reversal against Bootham A whilst York RI A are clear in second place after whitewashing bottom team York RI D. York RI B cruised to a 7-3 win over Coneysthorpe A with Jake McCarthy too good.
In the second division Wetherby thrashed bottom team BT A 10-0 to keep their title hopes alive but Clarence B remain in pole position as Martin Hood steered them to an 8-2 defeat of York RI E. An unbeaten performance from Adam Ridley allowed York RI F to secure valuable points in a narrow 4-6 loss against Bootham D whilst a struggling Ryedale@RI crashed to a 9-1 defeat against Bootham B with a resurgent Gareth Bryning continuing his unbeaten start to 2016. Dave Rawlings was on top form as Bootham C prevailed over Strensall 8-2 whilst students Ishan Bairoliya and Martin Brown were too good for Shepherds A in an 8-2 triumph for University A.
Clarence C have a firm grip on the division three title, and this was reinforced as Rob Farmery and Bob Young starred in a 9-1 thrashing of bottom team Burnholme B. Paul Greenwood played well to beat Jan Suchecki but three wins from Pete Corner allowed Bootham E to emerge with a 7-3 victory over York RI H, and in a busy week for Greenwood, his treble was decisive as York RI G beat Burnholme A 7-3. Russ Barton returned to form but his maximum could not prevent Bootham F slipping to a 7-3 defeat against BT B. In their first season at this level Wigginton & Haxby are turning in some good performances and skipper Chris Maude was undefeated as they shared the points 5-5 with Clarence D. University B continued their fine run of form as they dented the promotion hopes of Shepherds B with Yankui Feng untroubled in a 7-3 victory.
Division four leasers Clarence E whitewashed York RI J whilst University C slumped to a 9-1 defeat to Clarence G with Paul Lodder and Keith Hood too consistent. Russ Scott and Steve Wands recorded trebles as Clarence F thrashed Shepherds C 8-2 and in re-arranged fixture Trustmarque defeated a depleted University C 6-4.

In division one of SLT FM Solutions Ltd York and District Table Tennis League, Mick Wilcockson was on top form as he steered York RI B to a 6-4 victory over York RI C. York RI A needed a treble from Richard Moss to allow them to salvage a 5-5 draw against Bootham A and Aidan Ranftler continued his fine form for Clarence A as they prevailed 6-4 against Coneysthorpe B. Leaders Coneysthorpe A showed no mercy as they whitewashed bottom team York RI D 10-0.
In the second division Martin Hood and Mick Kenyon were too good as leaders Clarence B recorded a 7-3 victory against York RI F. Gareth Bryning was undefeated as Bootham B beat Strensall 8-2 in a match than only finished at 11.15pm with Strensall losing all 6 sets that went to a fifth end. Nigel Reeson played well for the villagers to defeat both Steve Milner and Jo Suchecki. Ryedale@RI picked up valuable points in a 7-3 reversal against third placed University C with student Ishan Bairoliya undefeated. A stunning performance from Steve Ayres could not prevent Wetherby inflicting a 6-4 defeat on Bootham D whilst Bootham C whitewashed BT A 10-0. An unbeaten man of the match performance from Adam Ridley was the highlight as York RI E beat Shepherds A 7-3.
Clarence C remain top of division three with Bob Young and Rob Farmery on top form as they thrashed a fading Bootham F 9-1. Adrian Church played well for Burnholme, picking up two valuable wins. Graham Wrightson led Burnholme A to an 8-2 win against Wigginton & Haxby.
Clarence E remain top of division four as unbeaten efforts from Tom Lines and Bob Fitzsimmons helped them to a convincing 8-2 victory over Trustmarque. Clarence F are still in contention for automatic promotion after they overcame York RI I by the same score line, thanks to Russ Scott and Steve Wands. A treble from Andrew Rouse could not prevent University C slipping to a 6-4 defeat-4 to Shepherds C whilst Clarence G whitewashed bottom team York RI J.

In division one of the SLT FM Solutions Ltd York and District Table Tennis League, Coneysthorpe A started 2016 with a convincing 9-1 triumph over Bootham A with James Rule and Martin Lowe retaining their unbeaten records. York RI C and Coneysthorpe B fought out a tight 5-5 draw with Joel Wright posting three wins for the villagers. Mick Wilcockson starred as York RI B prevailed 7-3 against York RI D with Adam Ridley playing superbly on his top flight debut to defeat Jake McCarthy. A treble from Aidan Ranftler allowed Clarence A to earn a superb 5-5 draw against second placed York RI A.

Matt and Steve Ayres were both untroubled as Bootham D defeated BT B 8-2.

York RI G thumped their H team 9-1 with Lewis Harrison and Ann Barnard on top form whilst a treble from Yankui Feng was decisive as University B cruised to an 8-2 victory against Bootham F. Michal Slezak starred for Burnholme B as they secured valuable points in a 5-5 draw against Clarence D.
The top game of the week was in division four as Clarence E and Clarence F both retained their unbeaten records, sharing the spoils in a 5-5 draw. Steve Wands put in the top performance of the night with three excellent wins for the F team. Elsewhere, Trustmarque thrashed York RI J 9-1 thanks to Dom McHugh and Mark Godliman whilst Nigel Baker led Shepherds C to a 6-4 victory over Clarence G. A maximum haul from student Andrew Rouse allowed a depleted University C to clinch a 6-4 victory over York RI I.

In the first division of the SLT FM Solutions Ltd York and District Table Tennis League, Andy Fletcher burst onto the scene for York RI A in their 8-2 defeat of Coneysthorpe B, after his start to the season was delayed by injury. He won his three singles matches, all of which went to the deciding set, including coming back from two sets down against in-form Joel Wright. Wright played well to defeat Richard Moss. Jake McCarthy won his three singles to help York RI B defeat Bootham A 6-4. His closest match was against Jan Suchecki, playing up from division three, whom he finally beat 11-5 in the deciding set. Richard Crowther and Filip Wojtkowiak were unbeaten as York RI C thrashed their D team 9-1 and Clarence A had no answers as they were whitewashed 10-0 by runaway leaders Coneysthorpe A.
In the second division, Graham Hatfield was unbeaten for Clarence B as they posted an 8-2 victory over Bootham D with Steve Ayres playing well to pick up a brace for the losers. In the key game at the foot of the table Ryedale@RI demolished rivals York RI F 9-1 with John Freeman and Stephen Temple too good. Wetherby A are the form team in the division and Shepherds A could only muster a consolation win in the doubles in a 9-1 reversal. Wetherby then went one better against Bootham C, thrashing them 10-0 with Ian Hilton and the rapidly improving Alan Balmforth unbeaten in both fixtures. Bootham B had a convincing 9-1 triumph over BT A with Jan Suchecki and Steve Milner on top form. Nigel White played well for the losers in beating Joe Suchecki.
In the third division, Jan Suchecki was on top form but he could not prevent Bootham E crashing to a 7-3 defeat against second placed Shepherds B. A treble from Chris Maude was key as he steered Wigginton and Haxby to a welcome 7-3 triumph over York RI H whilst Clarence D defeated Bootham F by the same score with Peter Taylor, Julian Taylor and Bob Fitzsimmons all contributing two wins for the victors. Leaders Clarence C struggled to see off a depleted University B and it needed two good wins from Simon Prins to confirm a 6-4 victory. Howard Lewis and Chris McLuskie were on top form as Burnholme A prevailed 6-4 against their B team and York RI G eased to a 7-3 win over BT B thanks to maximums from Peter Smalley and Paul Greenwood.
In division 4 a fine unbeaten performance from Mark Antrobus could not prevent York R I J going down 6-4 to high flying Clarence F. In a two players per team affair, Trustmarque edged out Crescent G 5-4 and Shepherds C overcame a depleted York RI I 7-3.

In the second division of the SLT FM Solutions Ltd York and District Table Tennis League a two man Strensall side did well to gain a 5-5 draw with RI F. Adam Ridley has had a fine season to date but he suffered a surprise defeat to John Temple, having a match point in the fourth game but losing a dramatic encounter, going down 12-10 in the final game. Temple went on to complete his best performance of the season with three wins. Wetherby continued their rich vein of form with Ian Hilton leading them to an 8-2 triumph over Ryedale@RI. John Freeman picked up a brace for the losers including an excellent win over in form Joe Wright. Matt and Steve Ayres combined to ensure a 7-3 victory for Bootham D against Shepherds A and leaders Clarence B whitewashed a struggling BT A team 10-0. University A recorded an excellent 10-0 victory over Bootham B although the final result does not reflect the closeness of the games, whilst Bootham C and York RI E shared the spoils in a tense 5-5 draw.
In the top match of the week in division one, Coneysthorpe A emerged triumphant as they beat York RI A 8-2. James Rule and Martin Lowe retain their 100% records but Richard Moss pushed Lowe to the limit before losing 11-9 in the final game with Paul Robertson having an identical outcome against Rule. Filip Wojtkowiak was again on top form with his treble decisive as York RI C defeated Botham A 6-4. Jane Cohen turned in a season’s best performance which helped York RI B to an 8-2 victory over Clarence A, whilst Joel Wright starred as Coneysthorpe B edged a close battle with York RI D 6-4.
In the third division, it was a busy week for University B as they reduced their fixture backlog. Firstly they beat high flying Shepherds B 6-4 thanks to an unbeaten effort from Razvan Ababei and then had Feng Yankui to thank as they salvaged a 5-5 draw versus Bootham F. They completed their week with a 7-3 victory over an injury hit BT B to move into the top half of the table. Elsewhere a fine treble from Paul Greenwood could not prevent York RI H suffering a 6-4 reversal against Shepherds B and Russ Barton was on top form as Bootham F prevailed 6-4 against Burnholme A. It was a tough week for Wigginton and Haxby as they slumped to a 9-1 defeat against York RI H with Peter Smalley and Lewis Harrison too strong. Bootham E had Lee Poulter to thanks for an 8-2 victory over Burnholme B, Mich Slezak played well for the losers to inflict a rare defeat on high flying Jan Suchecki.
Clarence F consolidated their lead in the fourth division 4 with Phil Foster and Tom Lines posting trebles in a 9-1 thrashing of Shepherds C whilst Clarence F remain in second place with Russ Scott unbeaten in a 7-3 victory over York RI I. Keith Hood starred as Clarence G had a comfortable 8-2 win over York RI I and University C beat York RI J by the same score line thanks to Shitong Mi and Andrew Rouse.

In division one of the SLT FM Solutions Ltd York and District Table Tennis League, Coneysthorpe A extended their lead at the top as James Rule and Martin Lowe steered them to a 7-3 win over their B team. Paul Robertson and Richard Moss were on top form as York RI A prevailed 7-3 against York RI B. whilst Bootham A defeated York RI D 7-3 with Jon Wooldridge and Jimmy Mills unbeaten. York RI C posted a welcome 7-3 victory over Clarence A with Richard Crowther putting in his best performance of the season to remain unbeaten along with Filip Wojtkowiak.
In the second division, runaway leaders Clarence B suffered a shock 7-3 defeat against Wetherby with new signing Dave Jackson’s treble decisive. Ady McClaren and Tim Smith both contributed three wins as York RI E thrashed Bootham B 8-2 and a maximum from Adam Ridley could not prevent his RI F suffering a 7-3 reversal against Bootham C. University A beat bottom of the table BT B 8-2 with Ishan Bairoliya and Martin Brown undefeated. Wetherby triumphed 8-2 against Strensall with rapidly improving Joe Wright too good. Bootham D had Steve Ayres to thank for 7-3 victory over Ryedale@RI whilst Alfie Potter and Martin Hood starred as Clarence B thumped Shepherds A 9-1.
In the third division, Jan Suchecki relinquished his unbeaten record as Razvan Ababei led University B to a 7-3 victory over Bootham E and a maximum from Paul Greenwood was the difference as York RI H edged a close encounter with Burnholme B 6-4. Leaders Clarence C whitewashed Burnholme A 10-0 and Bootham E defeated their F team 6-4 thanks to Jan Suchecki. Jim Stevenson was too good for Wigginton/Haxby with his treble helping BT B to a 7-3 victory. York RI G played well to hold Shepherds B to a 5-5 draw with Paul Kozyra untroubled for Shepherds. Three wins from Jack Kelly were key as University B prevailed 6-4 against Clarence D and a superb unbeaten effort from Russ Barton allowed Bootham F to earn a draw against leaders Clarence C.
Clarence E remain head of affairs in division 4 after firstly whitewashing York RI I 10-0 and then thrashing University C 9-1. Steve Webster starred as Shepherds C recorded an 8-2 victory over York RI J. Russ Scott and Steve Wands were too good for Clarence G as they slumped to an 8-2 defeat against Clarence F and a treble from Dom McHugh was the highlight of a 5-5 draw between Trustmarque and University C.

In division one of the SLT FM Solutions Ltd York and District Table Tennis League, Bootham A and Coneysthorpe B drew 5-5 in a hard-fought contest. Jon Wooldridge and Jimmy Mills won two each for Bootham and combined to win the doubles 11-9 in the deciding set. Joel Wright and Charlie Allott won two each for the visitors. Richard Moss and Nathan Horsley were untroubled as York RI A thrashed their C team 9-1 and Clarence A defeated York RI D by the same scoreline with John Farmery and Aidan Ranftler too powerful. Coneysthope A continued their domination of the division with a 10-0 whitewashing of York RI B.
In the second division, Steve Ayres made the difference as he powered Bootham D to a fine 7-3 victory over Strensall. Dave Norville picked up his first win of the season against Peter Harpham but this was the only positive as Shepherds A thrashed BT A 9-1 with Keith Webster and Will Beedham continuing their excellent recent form. York RI F secured a 5-5 draw against Bootham B with Adam Ridley undefeated, whilst a treble from Chris Hatton was decisive as University A defeated York RI E 7-3. Martin Hood and Graham Hatfield were on top form as runaway leaders Clarence B defeated Ryedale@RI 8-2 and in a busy week for the students three wins from Ishan Bairoliya allowed University A to share the spoils 5-5 with Bootham C.
Clarence C remain top of the third division as they edged a close encounter against Bootham E 6-4. Jan Suchecki retained his 100% record for the losers, with an excellent performance. Paul Seeking turned in a stunning unbeaten effort to secure a 5-5 draw for Bootham F against York RI H and a two man University B prevailed over a similarly depleted Burnholme A 7-2 thanks to Frank Feng and captain Razvan Ababei. Mike Surtees and Paul Kozyra were too good as Shepherds B thumped Wigginton and Haxby 9-1 and a treble from Pete Taylor was the highlight as Clarence D defeated BT B 7-3. In their second in consecutive nights, University B thrashed York RI H 9-1 with Jack Kelly and Razvan Ababei too strong.
A maximum from Phil Foster was key as Clarence E defeated Clarence G 8-2 to remain head of affairs in division 4 but rivals Clarence F kept up the pressure as they whitewashed a depleted University C 10-0. Elsewhere, a treble from Mark Antrobus could not prevent his York RI J sliding to a 7-3 reversal against York RI I and Nigel Baker starred as Shepherds C recorded a 7-3 victory over Trustmarque.

John Farmery played well for Clarence to defeat Nathan Taylor. James Rule is still 100% for the season and he and Ashley Hodgson were untroubled as leaders Coneysthorpe A triumphed 8-2 over York RI C. York RI A whitewashed their D team 10-0 whilst Coneysthorpe B and York RI B shared the spoils in a 5-5 draw with Joel Wright contributing three wins for the villagers.
In division two, a resurgent Keith Webster and the improving Will Beedham were both undefeated as Shepherds A defeated Ryedale@RI 8-2 and Clarence B outclassed Strensall in a 10-0 drubbing. Bootham D posted a superb 8-2 win against Bootham C with Matt Ayres turning in his best ever performance at this level, being unbeaten along with twin brother Steve. New signing David Jackson and in-form Joe Wright were the stars for Wetheby as they thrashed Bootham B 9-1. York RI E are steadily progressing up the table and showed no mercy as they whitewashed BT A 10-0 whilst Ishan Bairoliya steered University A to an 8-2 win over York RI F

Julian Taylor excelled as Clarence D recorded an excellent 7-3 win over Burnholem A and a treble from Gary Neads was decisive as Shepherds B edged a close encounter with BT B 6-4. A maximum haul from ace defender Peter Smalley allowed York RI G to clinch a draw against Bootham F whilst Wigginton and Haxby battled back from 4-1 down to draw 5-5 with rivals Burnholme B.
Clarence E thrashed York RI J 10-0 to remain top of division 4 and student Andrew Rouse starred as University C picked up a fine 6-4 victory over Clarence G. Nigel Baker inflicted the first defeat of the season on Russ Scott but Steve Wands responded with a treble as Clarence F defeated Shepherds C 8-2.

Paul Young ably deputised for the absent Martin Lowe as Coneysthorpe A whitewashed York RI D to remain top of the first division of the SLT FM Solutions Ltd York and District Table Tennis League. Paul Robertson was on top form as York RI A eased to a 7-3 victory over Bootham A whilst a treble from Joel Wright was decisive as Coneysthorpe B beat Clarence A by the same scoreline. On his seasonal debut, Filip Wojtkowiak contributed a treble but this could not prevent a 7-3 triumph for York RI B over their C team.
Clarence B emphasised their dominance of the second tier as they whitewashed a previously unbeaten Bootham C. Ian William was on top form for Shepherds A, but they had to settle for a 5-5 draw against a battling Strensall team. Ryedale@RI registered their first win of the season thrashing BT A 10-0 and Joe Wright contributed a fine treble for Wetherby as they shared the spoils 5-5 with University A. Rich McCarthy is finding his form after a long absence and his treble was the highlight of 7-3 triumph for York RI E over club mates York RI F. An unbeaten effort from Steve Ayres could not prevent his Bootham D suffering a 7-3 reversal against their B team.
In division 3, early leaders Burnholme A were held to a 5-5 draw against BT B for whom Jim Stevenson excelled. Clarence C took full advantage and replaced Burnholme at the head of the table head as Rob Farmery inspired them to an 8-2 win against York RI G. Bootham F remain unbeaten with Jason Chinnian and Russ Barton starring in a 6-4 defeat of a battling Wigginton and Haxby. Jan Suchecki is having a great season and his treble was key as Bootham E edged a close encounter against Clarence D whilst Shepherds B thumped Burnholme B 9-1 with Paul Kozyra and Chris Hutchinson untroubled.
Clarence E head the fourth division after whitewashing Trustmarque whilst Paul Lodder and Keith Hood starred for Clarence G as they defeated York RI J 8-2. Clarence F thrashed a depleted York RI I team but young Arthur Sorley played superbly for the losers, pushing the experienced Steve Wands to the limit before losing 22-20 in the fifth end. Shepherds C had Nigel Baker and David Atkinson to thank as they posted a 9-1 victory over University C.

In the first division of the SLT FM Solutions Ltd York and District Table Tennis League, champions Coneysthope A are pulling away from the pack after a 9-1 thrashing of Bootham A. James Rule and Martin Lowe retained their unbeaten records although Jon Wooldridge played well to beat Ashley Hodgson. Despite a superb unbeaten performance from Aidan Ranftler, Clarence A slipped to a 7-3 defeat to York RI A whilst Chris Londesbrough and Joel Wright were too good as Coneysthorpe B posted a 7-3 victory over York RI C. Andy Kirk played well to pick up his first top tier wins as York RI B cruised to an 8-2 victory over York RI D. Jake McCarthy and Jane Cohen were untroubled for the B team and Luke Blackburn recorded his first win of the season for the D team.
In division two, Bootham C edged a close encounter with Shepherds A 6-4 and new signing Chris Hatton starred at University A beat Bootham D 7-3 for their first victory of the season. Ryan Hood underlined his improvement with an unbeaten effort as York RI F beat BT A 7-3. After a quiet start to the season York RI E gained an excellent 6-4 victory at Wetherby with the experienced Rich McCarthy ending the 100% record of Joe Wright. New club Strensall had a fine 8-2 win against Ryedale at RI but then had to settle for a 5-5 draw in a re-arranged match against an improving University A. Dave Quinlan continued his fine run of form with maximums in both fixtures. Title favourites Clarence B thrashed Bootham B 9-1 but Bootham’s Steve Milner raised his game to clinch a fine victory again Mick Kenyon.
Burnholme A remain at the top of division three but had to settle for a 5-5 draw against Bootham E with in-form Jan Suchecki contributing three wins for Bootham. Clarence C thumped Wigginton & Haxby 9-1 whilst Lewis Harrison starred for York RI H as they secured a 6-4 victory against Clarence D. Promoted Bootham F continued their good start to the season by holding a strong Shepherds side to a 5-5 draw and a treble from Adrian Church allowed Burnholme B to gain a 5-5 draw against BT B. In their first match of the season University B went down 6-4 to York RI G with veteran defender Peter Smalley unbeaten.
In the fourth division, University C thrashed York RI 9-1 but it was memorable night for 12 year old Arthur Sorley who claimed his first ever win in the York winter league. Russ Scott continued his rich vein of form with a maximum haul as his Clarence F fought out a tough 5-5 draw with club mates Crescent E. Despite the unbeaten efforts of Mark Antrobus, Trustmarque prevailed 6-4 against York RI J whilst Paul Lodder and Mike Belton were too good as Clarence G cruised to an 8-2 victory over Shepherds C.

Coneysthorpe A whitewashed Clarence A to remain top of the first division of the SLT FM Solutions Ltd York and District Table Tennis League but young James Rule was pushed to the limit by the experienced John Farmery, recovering from two games down before prevailing 13-11 in the final end. Paul Robertson and Richard Moss steered York RI A to a 7-3 win over Coneysthorpe B whilst a fine treble from Jake McCarthy was not enough to prevent York RI B slipping to a 6-4 defeat to Bootham A. Mark Blackburn made the difference as promoted York RI D picked up their first win of the season with a welcome 7-3 triumph over rivals York RI C.
In division two, Bootham C continued with their fine start with in-form Richard Ingleby and Rich Harrison untroubled in an 8-2 victory over Ryedale@RI. Dave Quinlan was unbeaten as Strensall picked up their first win, prevailing 8-2 over promoted BT A for whom Howard Broadbent played well to pick-up a brace. Student Alex McCarthy played superbly to beat Martin Hood but this was the only bright note for University A as they suffered a 9-1 reversal against Clarence B. Joe Wright retained his unbeaten status as Wetherby Sports defeated York RI F 7-3 whilst Joe Suchecki and Gareth Bryning were too good as Bootham B thrashed Shepherds A 9-1. A treble from Steve Ayres allowed Bootham B to snatch a 5-5 draw against York RI E

Relegated Clarence E are leading the way in the fourth division after a 7-3 defeat of University C for whom Andrew Rouse excelled with a fine maximum. Elsewhere, Clarence F whitewashed York RI J.

It was a good week for the Coneysthorpe club in division one of the SLT FM Solutions Ltd York and District Table Tennis League. The A team underlined their title credentials by thrashing rivals York RI A 9-1 with James Rule and Martin Lowe too strong. For the losers, Richard Moss played well to beat Ashley Hodgson. Coneysthorpe B went one better whitewashing promoted York RI D. Elsewhere Aidan Ranftler was unbeaten at Clarence A recorded an 8-2 triumph over York RI B, whilst Bootham B thumped York RI C with Nathan Taylor and Jon Wooldridge on top form.
In the second division, Shepherds A continued their fine start to the season with a 7-3 defeat of University A with Peter Harpham contributing 3 wins. Richard Ingleby was in determined mood as Bootham C overcame Strensall 8-2 whilst Wetherby were too strong as they thrashed new boys BT A 10-0. Bootham B edged a close encounter with Ryedale@RI 6-4 with John Eastwood playing superbly to defeat Joe Suchecki. Title favourites Clarence B had a convincing 8-2 victory over York RI E with Martin Hood and Alfie Potter unbeaten.
In division three, Jan Suchecki’s unbeaten start to the season continued as he combined with Lee Poulter to steer his Bootham E side to a 7-3 defeat of York RI H. Clarence C whitewashed Burnholme B whilst Burnholme A and York RI G shared the spoils in a 5-5 draw. In their first game at this level, promoted Bootham F had a fine win against BT B with Russ Barton on top form.
It was a good week for Clarence Club in division 4 with all 3 teams emerging victorious. The E team overpowered Shepherd C 9-1, the F team defeated Trustmarque 8-2 and the G team saw off York RI I 9-1.

In the SLT FM Solutions Ltd York and District Table Tennis League, Coneysthorpe A have started their defence of the division 1 title with two convincing wins, 9-1 against York RI B and 10-0 against their own B team, helped by maximum hauls in both games from York Closed champion Martin Lowe and James Rule. York RI A are strengthened by the return of Richard Moss, six times York Closed champion, after an absence of four seasons. He won all of his games to help his team beat their C and B teams 9-1 and 7-3 respectively. Clarence A has won their two opening fixtures, 8-2 against York RI D and 6-4 against York RI C, thanks to maximums from John Farmery. Fifteen-year-old Mikey Arnold, playing for York RI D against Clarence A, made an instant impact on his first division debut, beating this year's York Closed Men's Singles finalist Aidan Ranftler. Coneysthorpe B edged Bootham A by 6-4 with Bootham recovering to beat York RI D by 10-0 in the second week.
Bootham C and Shepherds A have started with two wins each in division 2. Bootham C beat their B team 8-2 and followed it up with a 10-0 thrashing of BT A with Richard Ingleby recording maximums in both matches. Shepherds A had narrow 6-4 wins against York RI F and York RI E. Ady McClaren has won all of his matches for York RI E, against Ryedale at RI and Shepherds A.
In division 3 Burnholme A and York RI G have started with two wins each. Chris McCluskie won all of his games in Burnholme’s defeats of Shepherds B (6-4) and Wigginton&Haxby (9-1). Jan Suchecki has won all of his matches for Bootham E, against Wigginton&Haxby and York RI G.
Only four matches have been played so far in division 4; Shepherds C leading the way with 8-2 wins against Trustmarque and York RI J.
