According to you, what is the toughest aspect of being an athlete?
The toughest aspect of being an athlete is the mental and repetitious part of the practice. Doing the same things all seasons can become challenging, and it makes you question your individual talent a lot.

Do you have any advice for young people who want to start a career in Track & Field?
Please try it out! Track has so many events that you could have the opportunity to excel in. It's a good opportunity to work out and be with your friends. It also allows you to meet new people and support one another.

What is your favorite memory about Track & Field?
My favorite memory from track is when we were at Pine Richland for an invitational, and it was raining a lot. We were warming up for the 4x8 and there were worms on the field. My friend picked one up, put it in her mouth, and we ended up hitting PR in the race. `

What one word describes you?
Competitive. “I do not like to lose.”

Why are you so passionate about Track & Field?
I am so passionate about track because even though it's physically challenging, it's definitely a mental game. It's you against yourself in a race. You have to fight with your mind to keep pace and tell yourself that it's possible to do.

Raney, the versatile Track & Field athlete with a team-first mentality, is a rare gem in the sport. Specializing in the 800-meters, Raney's skills extend beyond the track, as she is also an excellent javelin thrower and can run on any relay team.

Despite missing out on the chance to compete in the 2022 PIAA Championships, where she had qualified for the 800-meter dash, Raney remains undeterred. Instead, she is using the injury as motivation to return to the state championship and perform on the grand stage of Shippensburg University.

This season, all eyes are on Raney to break the 2:20 mark in the 800-meter dash. With her unwavering determination, there's no doubt that she will leave it all on the track and make her mark in the sport.
