According to you, what is the toughest aspect of being an athlete?

I think the toughest thing can be trying not to compare yourself to everybody else. I have always had a slender build, and it has been tough for me to go to meets and try to compete with athletes who possess greater physical prowess than I do, and not let that impact my self-confidence.

Do you have any advice for young people who want to start a career in Track & Field?
To take advantage of all the resources at your disposal. You can get more out of a week of observing other athletes and being coached effectively than you could in months of trying to train and figure it out on your own.

Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of Track & Field?

I developed a really passionate interest in literature and philosophy while in high school, and I am hoping to find more ways to explore them when I get to college.

What is your favorite memory about Track & Field?

Me and another hurdler named Jacob used to always warm up together and help each other with form. It was a great relationship where we got to support each other and learn from each other, and it really made the season feel special

Which strengths do you believe you have that make you a great athlete?

I have a lot of technical skills, and I try to apply my mental strengths to make up for any deficit in my physical ability

Why are you so passionate about Track & Field?

The fact that it is a sport that lets individuals succeed on their own, whilst still receiving the support and sense of community that comes with a team sport.
