When did you first become interested in track and field?
I started track my sophomore year of high school to run with my older sister just as something fun to do and didn’t take it too seriously at first.

How do you deal with injuries?Tearing my ACL my freshman year in basketball and not being able to participate in track, it is important to keep your head up, trust the process, and to listen to what your body is telling you to come back healthier and stronger.

What is your favorite track and field memory?
My first year having my 4x1 relay team qualify for states. I got to anchor and had come from behind, winning our heat within the last 20 meters of the race, and we ended the season with a PR.

What makes track and field a unique sport?
I love how it is mostly an individual sport. You get to train and focus on bettering yourself in your events while still having fun with teammates.

What is the biggest challenge you have faced as a track and field athlete?
Realizing that every race isn’t going to be your best race. You need to stay positive and confident in yourself/training that your hand work will pay off.

Her impressive athletic abilities on the basketball court are just as remarkable on the track, where she currently stands as one of the top runners in the WPIAL AA girls division this season. As she gears up for the championship season, Lauryn has her sights set on making a triumphant return to Shippensburg in the 200-meter dash, with a goal of breaking the 26-second mark. Not only that, but she also possesses the remarkable ability to run a sub 59 4x4 relay split by May. With her unwavering work ethic, unyielding determination, and a strong desire to succeed on the track, there's no limit to what Lauryn can achieve during the WPIAL championship season.
