According to you, what is the toughest aspect of being an athlete?

The toughest part of being an athlete is not only the physical challenges, but the mental challenges you face. In the sport of track, it’s you versus yourself, so those days when you don’t feel like training, or when you may not have ran your best race, staying mentally tough and positive is something I still am working with today. Every day as an athlete I work on growing my mindset and expanding my mental toolbox.

What drives you to get up in the morning and go train every day?

My future, knowing the possibilities and opportunities track has given me is what wakes me up every day, constantly trying to be the best version of myself.

What is the best advice you ever got and who gave it?

The best advice I’ve ever received was learning how to live in the moment and focus on the present. My English teacher told me you can’t change the future or the past so you might as well focus on the present.
