According to you, what is the toughest aspect of being an athlete?
I’d say the hardest thing is waking up every day and giving 110% and being in the same position you were each day, but mentally knowing that you’re trying and trying and trying, that’s the real grind.

Is there a coach or athlete that you look up to as a role model and why?

“Myself in 10 years” because I’ll never know what I’ll be exactly in 10 years so I’ll always have somebody to chase.

What drives you to get up in the morning and go train every day?
Progression, seeing progress in every aspect drives me to become better and work harder.

Which brand of Track & Field shoes do you prefer?
Nike is the best track and field spike out there!

Who is your favorite professional athlete?
Noah Lyles

Why are you so passionate about Track & Field?
It brings me peace and happiness.

What one word describes you?
Ambitious

I don’t think many boys in AA can outwork Matthew, he goes above and beyond to make himself better on the track every day at practice.

Key events are the 100-meter dash & Long Jump. Qualifying for the Indoor PTFCA State Championship was a confidence booster, knowing he is one of the top long jumpers in the state I could see a 22-4 jumper or better this outdoor season & a sub 11.05 100-meter dash.

Great leader for the Hopewell Track & Field team.
