According to you, what is the toughest aspect of being an athlete?

The toughest aspect of being an athlete is the mental part of your sport or event. Especially the mental blocks that track athletes go through.


Do you have any pre-meet rituals?

My pre-meet ritual is that I eat a chocolate caramel Gatorade protein bar, eat a vanilla honey stinger, and drink a reign energy drink. 


Is there a coach or athlete that you look up to as a role model, and why?

I look up to Drew Layton as an athlete. He is a hard worker and is very motivated and driven.


What is your favorite sports quote?

You need to become comfortable, being uncomfortable.


Which brand of Track & Field shoes do you prefer?

I prefer Nike.


What age were you when you started competing competitively in Track & Field .

I started competing in track and field in 7th grade, but really got into it competitively my senior year of high school.


Em has committed herself to pursuing high jumping as a full-time endeavor this season and has achieved a remarkable accomplishment by consistently clearing 5 feet in 7 out of 8 indoor meets. Due to her impressive performance, she has earned the top rank among WPIAL AA girl high jumpers and is positioned as a strong contender for the WPIAL Championship in May.
