Altar Servers assist the priest at the altar during the Mass and at various other liturgies. Training for those who are in grades 2-12 takes place each year. Altar Servers assist at weekend and holy day masses and occasionally at a wedding or Stations of the Cross. Pope Francis constantly encourages “the young Church” to get involved. Assisting at Mass is a wonderful way for children to take a leading role in helping our parishes celebrate the Eucharist in a joyful and well-ordered manner. Encourage your sons/daughters to consider this important form of service to Jesus and His family, the Church.
