Special Minister of Holy Communion
EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS
OF HOLY COMMUNION
Our Extraordinary (Special) Ministers of Holy Communion assist the ordinary ministers: priest and deacon, with the distribution of Communion. Any adult parishioner in good standing in the Catholic Church is invited to serve. Extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion may choose the Mass time they wish to serve and are scheduled about once every two-three weeks. Sometimes they may be asked to assist in bringing Our Lord to parishioners who are home bound and infirm ensuring that even those who cannot join us on Sunday know both the love of God and the prayerful support of the Saint John Bosco community. Training is provided by the Diocese Worship Office.
