We would like to resume the tradition of THE TRAVELING CHALICE in our both Churches. Each week a family would host the chalice. You will pick it up after Mass in the sacristy and take it home to be displayed in a place where the members of your family may see and honor it and remember to pray for Vocations to the Priesthood and Religious Life. A simple Prayer will be included for your use.
The purpose of the Traveling Chalice Program is to encourage families and parishioners to pray for Church vocations to the priesthood and religious life. The Chalice is a visual reminder of the importance of Christ's Body and Blood as central to our life of Faith and the important role of the priest at Mass.
Please prayerfully and seriously consider participating in this program at least one week a year. If interested, please complete the form below and drop it in the collection basket any weekend or take or mail it to the parish office. You will be notified of the week you will host the chalice. A schedule will be made and we hope to begin this at the beginning of the first weekend of March and the beginning of the Lenten Season.
This project, sponsored by our Parish Vocation Team, has been well received. A number of individuals and families have signed up to host the chalice in their home for a week and pray for an increase of vocations to the Priesthood and Religious Life. We have coverage for all of the weekends of March and April and are now taking requests for May and the summer months. Call the office or fill out one of the forms in the vestibule and either drop it in the collection basket or take to the parish office. Together, may we pray that more young people may answer the call of Jesus to serve Him in the Church as a priest, deacon or religious.
