Pastoral Care to Homebound/Nursing Homes/Assisted Living Facilities

FACILITIES

Communion is taken to those in these care facilities as requested.  Due to the HPPA laws, families are requested to inform the parish office when a parishioner is admitted so that Fr. Ric or Deacon Maurice may visit.  Mass is celebrated monthly at the following two Senior Living Facilities:  Laurels and Fritzingertown. 

PASTORAL VISITS TO THE HOMEBOUND AND SICK 

If you desire to have Father Sudhir or Deacon Maurice visit you or a loved one in the local hospital, nursing home, assisted living facility or at your home please contact the parish office at 570-788-1997, Ext. 3 and clearly and slowly leave your name and contact information. Please be aware that unless you contact us we will not be able to visit. Due to the HIPPA confidentiality regulations and Covid regulations of each facility we are not informed of our parishioners who are hospitalized or in facilities. Father or Deacon will be happy to visit parishioners from both St. John Bosco Church and Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. They will contact you or your family to set up a time that is available for your schedule and their schedule. Fr. Sudhir is available to hear your confession, offer the anointing of the sick and Holy Communion during his pastoral visit and Deacon Maurice will be available during his pastoral visit to offer Holy Communion and the blessing of your home (if desired). The homebound, in addition to receiving Holy Communion from one of our dedicated volunteer Eucharistic Ministers on a regular basis, should have a visit by one of our priests at least twice a year for the opportunity for the Sacraments of Anointing and Confession. 

VISITATION OF THE HOMEBOUND 

If you are homebound or infirm and unable to attend Church, please contact the parish office and we would be happy to visit you during the Lenten Season. You may receive Holy Communion, Confession and Anointing of the Sick if you desire. Call the office at 570-788-1997, EXT 3 and leave your name and contact information and we will contact you to set up an appointment.
